Last Thursday the Hub family attended the annual Christmas meal at the Charteris Centre.
There was lots of food, live piano music and lots of sparkles! ✨️🌟

Hillcrest Futures Edinburgh Resource Hub is running three weekly cooking groups to support life skills and mental well-being.
We cook with fresh ingredients and we eat together the delicious food that's prepared by the participants. 🥘🍲🍛🥗🧁😋

What a wonderful experience and what a fantastic learning opportunity these creative workshops at the Edinburgh Printmakers are!
We joined again for another two of our Friday Arts & Crafts sessions and we did animation and Tetra Pack printing! We absolutely loved it! ..and here are our awesome creations! 🎞🎨

.....and we ended last week with one of our most favourite outings: another Access Performance of the Scottish Opera! 🎼🎵🎶
A group of 12 Hub attendees accompanied by staff went to the Festival Theatre and enjoyed the production of Don Pasquale, Donizetti's "quick-witted comedy".
Oh and what a delightful surprise it was when Trish, the chihuahua, made an appearance at the very end dressed up as a....cat! 😆
Once again, after the performance, the cast and Trish came out to the theatre's foyer to thank the crowd and take photos with them.

Tasting Greek cuisine has been in our plans for quite some time now so yesterday a group of 15 Hub members had their request granted.
We visited Fava, the Greek restaurant in Morrison Street and we had an incredible feast of delicious Greek food. 🇬🇷 🍢🍲🥘
We were very well looked after by all the staff and Ermis, the manager, and chef Greg sent to our table extra dishes and mezedes on the house. 🙏
One luscious meal to remember and as Jonathan, one of our regular attendees, put it: "such a great cultural outing".
Thank you for funding all these amazing experiences.

Also November is a birthday month for quite a number of attendees so one of them, our Sophie, surprised her Hub friends with a gorgeous cake from Krema bakehouse which she brought to the restaurant and shared with all. 🎂🎉

Friday mornings are for our Breakfast Club and....look at this delicious, vibrant dish we just made! 😘
Mouthwatering Mediterranean salad with eggs, ham, cheese shavings and French vinaigrette, served with a side of buttered bread roll. 🥗

Happy November, everyone!
Is it getting a bit colder and darker? Fear not, the Hillcrest Futures Edinburgh Resource Hub is well prepared!
Not only we are a warm, safe space for people to drop-in but also with 3 cooking activities weekly on our timetable, our attendees enjoy a free, freshly prepared meal and a good banter around the table. 🥘🍲🍛
So....here what's on offer: Cooking Club on Mondays at 2pm, Baking Group on Wednesdays at 11am and Breakfast Club on Fridays at 11am.
No need to book, just come along.....and bon appétit! 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳

Tis the season to be....spooky and our "Arts & Crafts" groups are on it! 👻
Halloween themed, hand-made decorations by our very talented attendees have started appearing around the Hillcrest Futures Edinburgh Resource Hub.
Definitely a treat and not a trick having such creative Hub members! 🎃

World Mental Health Day, celebrated every year on 10 October, is all about coming together to talk about mental health, to show everyone that mental health matters, to raise awareness of mental health issues globally and to mobilise efforts in support of mental health.
Even though supporting and improving mental health and wellbeing daily is one of the main objectives of the Hillcrest Futures Edinburgh Resource Hub, this month we have focused even more on mental health.
It has been the topic of our Goal Setting sessions on Tuesday afternoons where we went through our Mental Health Check Lists and had helpful conversations.
Also, we visited the 12th Out Of Sight Out Of Mind Exhibition of the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival at Summerhall with artworks by over 310 people who experience mental health issues.
This year's theme is In/Visible and once again it's a brilliant event! Go and visit!

The last couple of months a Community Link Worker from Cyrenians has been introducing people they support to our Hub. Yesterday morning we received this wonderful message with their feedback about our service. 🙏
We are very touched and grateful and really proud for making such a good first impression to new people and for keeping offering a welcoming, warm and safe environment to all people who visit the Hillcrest Futures Edinburgh Resource Hub.
