We second huge congratulations and deep gratitude for everything that Kinga does for Edinburgh Branch and for people with Parkinson's in the Polish community - and the wider community. Truly well deserved award 👏
Where to start on Kinga Kabala’s efforts for the Parkinson’s community? She’s definitely one of our volunteer superstars in Scotland.
Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s five years ago, at age 45, Kinga has made a difference for others in so many ways.
She’s been a big supporter of Walk for Parkinson’s, along with dozens of members of her community who all take part. Kinga has also raised thousands of pounds for Parkinson’s UK through a series of concerts at her church, St Ninian and Triduana’s.
Kinga was the driver for setting up an online support group for Polish people living with Parkinson’s. She’s also been a keen supporter of our Niddrie cafe in Edinburgh.
This week, Volunteers’ Week, Kinga’s work has been recognised at Edinburgh's Inspiring Volunteer Awards At a ceremony on Tuesday night, the Lord Provost presented awards to Kinga and other volunteers who give their time, energy and commitment to the people of Edinburgh.
Kinga said: “Thank you all!
“You had an incredible influence on my decision about what my life would be like after my diagnosis. I am so incredibly grateful for the people I have met along the way.
“I feel nothing but gratitude.”
Congratulations, Kinga, from all of us at Parkinson's UK!
