Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust The Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust is the voice of the community around the Union Canal at Fountainbridge.

If you live, work or visit the area then you're a part of this community. The Union Canal at Fountainbridge is a special place. Redeveloping the land here is a chance to retain valuable wildlife corridors into the city while highlighting the rich cultural history in an attractive area for recreation and leisure. Formed by combining Re-Union Canal Boats (you’ll have seen their big purple boat!) and

Fountainbridge Canalside Initiative, the Fountainbridge Canalside Community Trust will help to guide the decisions that are made during the redevelopment of the site. Here you can find out more about us, take a look at upcoming events in the area, find information about the area, or get in touch with us to get involved.

The Big Butterfly Count 2026 is here! 🦋

From now until 9 August, spend 15 minutes outside counting the butterflies you see and help us take nature's pulse.

With 80% of UK butterfly species in decline, it’s never been more important to understand how our insects are responding to climate change and habitat loss.

The best part? Anyone, anywhere can take part. No lab coats. No science degrees. Just 15 minutes of your time. ⏱️
