We are delighted that proceeds from The Giddy Up Christmas Show taking place at The Scottish National Equestrian Centre will be donated to the Giddy up Fund supporting EGS research at The Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.

A devastating neurological disease of grazing horses; EGS claims many equine lives and year-on-year and instils horse owners with fear and trepidation.

Although historic research efforts have identified a number of factors associated with increased EGS risk, the precise cause remains unknown – and exposure to many of the identified ‘risk factors’ remains inevitable under standard horse management practices.

Current and planned research efforts are focused on identifying a cause and revealing realistic opportunities for prevention and treatment, including understanding the mechanisms underpinning EGS-associated nerve damage.

Did you know that you can fundraise in aid of any area of the University of Edinburgh?

When Rebecca's beloved yellow Labrador, Amber, died just weeks after being diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma (a highly aggressive cancer that develops from blood vessel cells), she contacted us to find out what research we were undertaking.

Becca has challenged herself to raise £10k in memory of Amber and she's already half way there.
