Great to see the First Minister in Granton reflecting on the investment in new homes and regeneration in North Edinburgh.

On a lovely Saturday I dropped into the cafe in Victoria Park beside Drakkars Drift and had a lovely chat with Asha and Alasdair.

Run by Earth in Common, the cafe is operating as a ‘pop up’ while the Council processes its full licence. Once they have that the Cafe can extend its offerings.

Inside the Cafe has preserved the lovely character of the old bowling green pavillion

Such a nice spot for a coffee and a scone and jam.

Well worth a visit!
(and there is a toilet)

It was Harvest Festival at Granton Community Gardners in Wardieburn Road on Saturday. There was a full programme and great to see so many from the local community enjoying the afternoon.

And the apple juice was delicious!

I was also delighted ot hear about how many join in the community lunch, every Wednesday.

It is great to see the way in which the Drakkar's Drift garden in Victoria Park continues to develop and establish itself at the heart of the community - the latest development being the very welcome opening of the Cafe in the old bowling green pavillion (Wed-Sun 10am-3pm)

It was DOORS OPEN DAY at the Heart of Newhaven on Saturday. It is so good to see just how many community activities the Heart is now running and Saturday was no exception - the place was buzzing!

Very well worth going along to see if any of the activities excite you!

It was great to meet residents from Saltire Square (and surrounding properties) on Saturday as they met for their LITTER PICK organised by the 55Deg North Residents Association.

It was so impressive to see so many resideents committed to improving not only the immediate area but roaming far and wide.

I was also pleased to be able to discuss some of the local issues of concern to residents and I now have a healthy list to get action on by Council officers.

If any groups want to organise their own Litter Pick, you can contact the North West Locality office for pickers, gloves and bags - or message me and I can arrange.
