Without income security, there can be no resilience for the coffee sector. Full stop. 🛑

Even with today's high coffee prices, price protection for farmers is still as relevant as ever.

Which is why voluntary measures, such as the Fairtrade Minimum Price, are so important. Because when prices collapse, or harvests fail, it prevents the evaporation of incomes.

For years, the Fairtrade Minimum Price has protected producers during prolonged periods of unsustainably low coffee prices to help cover production costs and enable ongoing investment into farms and farmer-owned cooperatives.

And it is the only evidence-based pricing intervention that exists to provide a safety net for cooperatives when markets fail.

Yesterday we updated the Fairtrade Minimum Prices for coffee, which will come into effect from 1 December 2026, reflecting new research in production costs and market conditions.
