Huge thanks to all who supported the Fundraising Night within the WO&SR Mess, HMS CALEDONIA, in aid of Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, particularly Stuart McLean 🎶🎶, the RNA City of Edinburgh Branch, RNA Forth Valley Branch, RNA Rosyth & West Fife Branch and guests.

A fantastic £354.87 was raised and has been deposited directly into the RNRMC Bank A/C.

Monthly Report Forms

Just a gentle reminder to complete your monthly report forms. These forms are essential; they allow us to share with the Royal Naval Royal Marines Charity (RNRMC) the fantastic work our volunteers are doing and help us celebrate those efforts.

The form is short and simple. You can:

We want to make this process as easy as possible for you. If your branch doesn’t currently have a Branch Welfare and Wellbeing Officer (BWWO), we kindly ask that the Secretary completes the form instead.

Photo ID Cards

A quick reminder: Photo ID cards are available for all BWWOs and Branch Support Volunteers (BSVs). If you haven’t got yours yet, please get in touch.

DBS Checks

Please ensure that all BWWOs have a valid, in-date DBS certificate. If you need to arrange a DBS check, contact me and I’ll be happy to assist.

Could you please check that the details we hold for your BWWO are correct? This is critical to ensure all branches stay informed and up to date.

A great end to the RNA Scottish Area year ….. Shipmates enjoyed a wonderful Festive Social, at the RBLS Club Grangemouth on Friday evening, and Delegates and Observers, from 6 of the 10 Branches with the Area, attended the 4th Quarterly Meeting, both hosted by the RNA Forth Valley Branch.

We were joined by General Secretary, S/M Bill Oliphant who provided an update on the ongoing Governance review and also RNA Comms, Sarah Bewley.

Many thanks all who attended to make these successful and enjoyable events (thanks for the pics S/M Andy Mac).

Stephen and I arrived in Malta yesterday - unpacked, wandered along to St Julian’s for scran, then back to Sliema for a wee rum 🥃.

Heading into Valletta today - planning to go on the ferry ⛴️ to get our sea time in 🤪 - get our bearings, etc. for Remembrance Sunday Parade and Service.

We wish you all a good Remembrance period, wherever you’re remembering. We Will Remember Them ⚓️

Today our Area Chairman, Shipmate Brian MacKenzie laid a wreath on behalf of Scottish Area at the opening of the Edinburgh Garden of Remembrance.

“As Brian, who served in submarines, shared: ‘We navigated the deep, unseen but unwavering. This place honours those who sailed before us, and those who never surfaced again. It’s our way of saying: you are remembered, shipmate.”

We had the final rehearsal of the RNA Community Choir Scotland today.

What great fun this journey has been and we can’t thank our Musical Director, Christian and Assistant, Matthew enough for their support, encouragement and dedication.

We have had the best time and now very much feel ready for and are looking forward to the RNA 75 Concert in Portsmouth Guildhall on the 22nd October.
