Although the world is dark at times, we still strive to find the joy and share that with anyone we come across as often as our spoons allow! β˜€οΈ

For example, just the other week our amazing Sister Minnie Pause was out and about in the US helping to host drag story times! πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

In a difficult world, it's important to keep younger generations full of joy and wonder, and what better way to do that than with the theme of dragons and princesses πŸ‰πŸ‘ΈπŸ»

A happy start to pride month to all our siblings out there!

Let us remember to stay fierce & true to yourself, be kind to others & look out for all parts of our community, and never let the bigots & facists push back our rights!

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ As today is the election for The Scottish Parliament, we wanted to remind you to go vote! We won't tell you how to vote, but we will ask that you think carefully about which parties have actively stood with our community and helped us, and which f*ckers have been trying to strip back out hard fought rights and demonised minorities for their own gain! πŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

You can vote until 10pm tonight as long as you are registered to vote. So get out and make your voice heard! πŸ—³

You will have 2 votes:
* Lilac Ballot Paper is for your Constituency Vote - this is voting for a specific candidate to be the MSP for your Constituency. πŸ’œ
* Peach Ballot Paper is for your Regional Vote (List Vote) - here you will vote for a Party rather than a specific person. 🧑

Both votes should be marked with 1 ❌ per ballot paper. You do not have to vote for the same party on each Ballot Paper.

Go and exercise your democratic right (to hopefully make the world a little kinder and fairer!) πŸ’š

In Lebanon, people escaping airstrikes and violence are searching for shelter in schools & public buildings. But some people are still being shut out even during this invasion.

Many state collective shelters rely on a narrow β€œtraditional family” model, excluding people who arrive alone, with chosen family, or outside conventional family structures. This happened last time Israel invaded and many in these same groups were unable to access shelters, faced harassment or violence, struggled to get medical and psychological care, or stayed away out of fear of being judged or exposed.

This is a violation of basic human rights. Every person has the right to safety, shelter, and equal treatment under the law – even more so in times of crisis.

Some ministers and public officials have shown openness to improving humanitarian standards & protecting vulnerable people during crises. Lebanese authorities and international organisations still have the power to act to make shelters safer and accessible to everyone.

Sign now to call for an emergency response that protects every person, as only with pressure do those in power act in the best interests of everyone!

Although the burning down of Pink Punters, a q***r nightclub down in Milton Keynes, has been said to be accidental, there is still something we can unpack from initial reactions to it happening.

Many q***r people and allies assumed the worst, an act of terrorism fueled by bigotry and hatred! And can you really blame them given that over the years we have watched hard fought rights & protections come under pressure from far-right activists.wr have watched hate crimes increase as politics has been hijacked to attack already marginalised groups in society instead of fixing the problems we all face πŸ˜”

Any time something like this happens in a q***r space, we don't have the luxury of assuming accidents have happened. We have to wonder if it's part of a wider trend, is our community under attack again, is it still safe to truly be me when I go out tomorrow. We have to worry about each other as we know politicians and others in power won't take it seriously (at least those current ones offer!).

Society is made stronger when we treat all minority groups with the same rights & protections! We all have a part to play in calling out aggressions against others, both micro and overt in nature πŸ™πŸ»

The other week we also got to pop along to to witness some amazing acts as the contestants competed to be selected for a spot to perform at this year's Fife Pride!

It was a joyous night of q***r people getting to share their talents and skills with an engaged audience πŸ’™

Honestly there was a single act that didn't take our breath away and it was great to go along and bless the stage, performers, audience, and volunteers & staff πŸ™πŸ»πŸ’œ

Have you ever wondered why the β€œL” comes first in LGBTQIA+?

Today is Le***an Visibility Day, so let's take a moment to recognise, celebrate, and uplift le****ns in all their diversity by talking about the importance of the L.

During the AIDS crisis, when fear and stigma led many to turn away, it was le****ns who stepped forward.

They organised care, raised funds, donated blood, and supported gay men who were being abandoned by families, institutions, and governments. They showed up with compassion, courage, and action when it mattered most. This is why L is the first letter of the acronym - as recognition for their incredible efforts .

The truth is that le****ns have always been at the heart of q***r liberation movements, yet are often overlooked, stereotyped, or spoken over. Visibility is not just about being seen. It is about being recognised fully, respected properly, and included meaningfully.

So today, we celebrate:

β€’ Le***an joy and love
β€’ Le***an history and activism
β€’ Le***an voices, past and present

And we reaffirm something simple:

Le***ans deserve respect. Not as an afterthought, not conditionally, but as a fundamental part of our community πŸ’–

Sometimes when we get out and about, the attention isn't on us but others that are making and sharing their own art, stories, and other creative ventures!

Last week oor lovely Postulant Inya and Sister Ann got their glad rags on and went to see Idol Worship and even got to meet Peaches Christ and Minx Stole πŸ’™

We should never take for granted the fact that q***r arts can be shared more easily than in the past, although it varies from area to area, as representation & visibility matters πŸ™πŸ»

Time for another woke Wednesday, as we would rather be awake and fighting for global equality than allowing suffering to continue!

In Bertoua, Cameroon, a young man was violently attacked with a razor blade simply because he was perceived to be gay. This left him injured and publicly humiliated, and instead of being protected he is now held in custody.

A victim of an attack should be able to rely on the protection of the law – not be treated as a suspect. This scenario calls into question fundamental rights: the right to safety, the right to equal protection under the law, and the right to fair treatment.

In Cameroon, violence against LGBT+ people is not an isolated occurrence. But when the victim themselves ends up in detention, it sends a worrying message: that some people are not protected in the same way as others. This undermines trust in the justice system and exposes more people to fear, violence and silence.

Yet, the Cameroonian Constitution and Cameroon’s international commitments are clear. Every person has the right to dignity, safety, equality before the law and a fair trial. These rights must apply to everyone, without exception!

Sign now to demand justice, protection and respect for fundamental rights:

Over the ages we have already lost enough q***r history, so let's do what we can as a community to support those ensuring we have access to q***r history and provide a third space for us to be ourselves πŸ’œ
