🚶‍♀️ One week left to sign the Safe Crossings for Edenbridge petition.

This is only one moment in time, but it shows why safe crossing options matter when traffic is busy

This petition is not simply asking for “more crossings”. It is asking Kent County Council to look properly at safe ways for people to cross busy roads or, where a crossing is not possible in one location, to provide a safe route to a suitable crossing point nearby.

That matters near Edenbridge Medical Centre. It also matters near Eden Manor Residential Home.

Older and less mobile residents, visitors, staff and families should not be left trying to cross busy roads without a safe, practical option.

Please help us make the strongest possible case to KCC. We need as many signatures as possible.

MORE HOMES. SAME BOTTLENECK.

Anyone who uses this road knows the drill, wait at the lights, squeeze under the bridge… and hope there isn’t a lorry stuck the other side.

It’s one of those very Edenbridge problems we’ve almost learnt to live with.

But with thousands more people expected to rely on our roads, is “learning to live with it” really good enough?

Come and look at what the Reg 19 Plan says about transport, growth and the infrastructure Edenbridge will be expected to rely on.

No presentation. No booking. Just drop in, look at the evidence and make up your own mind.

Because before we add more traffic, it seems reasonable to ask where it’s all supposed to go.

Huge thank you to NEDRA for running another Reg 19 Local Plan pop-up! Yesterday it was at Bridges. 👏

It was brilliant to hear that so many people came along to find out more, ask questions and have their say on the proposals affecting our area.

The work NEDRA is doing to keep residents informed and engaged is fantastic. Community involvement really matters, particularly on something as important as the local Plan, it really is future of our town.

Well done to everyone involved — brilliant work! 👏👏

WILL EDENBRIDGE COPE?

More homes. More journeys. More pressure on roads, healthcare, drainage and public transport.

Regulation 19 is where we ask the crucial question: has the Plan actually shown that all of this can be delivered?

Come and look for yourself.

📍 Bridges Café
📅 Saturday 15 August
⏰ 10am–12 noon

Our full Reg 19 exhibition will be on display. Drop in, explore the issues, ask questions and find out what the Four Tests of Soundness really mean for Edenbridge.

Don’t just hear that the Plan is sound. Come and see what the evidence says.

For those who missed it, here is the page on our website with the Regulation 19 Local Plan recording and a copy of the leaflet we left on seats. We will be organising some further smaller events leading up to the comments submission date of 17 September 2026.

518 signatures - thank you!

We have now passed our 500 target, which shows just how strongly local people feel about the need for safe, practical pedestrian routes in Edenbridge.

It is encouraging that crossing points are already being discussed, but until safe solutions are agreed and delivered, we need to keep the momentum going.”

Please help us reach the next target: 750 signatures.

BRIDGES MARKET DAY - SATURDAY 2ND MAY

We’re delighted to be back at Bridges Café this Saturday for their brilliant Market Day.

There’ll be a fantastic mix of stalls – from plants and homemade cakes to jewellery and local art – plus everything on the café menu, with extended opening from 10am–2pm.

Our water quality exhibition is still on display, and we’ll be there too, between 10am and 12pm so do come and say hello if you fancy a chat about the river, our work, or how you can get involved.
It’s a great way to support Bridges and spend a relaxed Saturday morning – we hope to see you there.
