The Mummy Head at Cyfarthfa Castle
One of the most intriguing exhibits at Cyfarthfa Castle Museum, Merthyr Tydfil, is its ancient Egyptian mummified head. Dating back thousands of years, the head is believed to have belonged to an individual from Ancient Egypt and was preserved through the process of mummification. It forms part of the museum’s Egyptian collection, which reflects the Victorian fascination with Egyptology and collecting artefacts from around the world. Although little is known about the person’s identity, the remarkably preserved features provide a fascinating glimpse into ancient burial practices and make the mummy head one of the museum’s most memorable and thought-provoking exhibits.
Often with artefacts surrounding human remains; we find a higher level of paranormal phenomena.
