🎵 Could you help bring the power of music to someone living with dementia? 🎵

Music for Memories is looking for volunteers in Blaenau Gwent to help launch a personalised music service that brings comfort, connection and joy through meaningful songs and memories.

💙 Volunteer Roles Available:
🎶 Volunteer Care Home Ambassadors – build relationships with care homes and discover residents' favourite music.
🎶 Community Development Volunteers – connect with local groups, individuals and families to capture the songs and memories that matter most.

No musical experience is needed. If you're a good listener, enjoy meeting people and want to make a real difference, they'd love to hear from you.

✅ Flexible commitment (around 3-4 hours per week)
✅ Full training and ongoing support provided
✅ Ideal for older people, former carers, or anyone with empathy and patience

🌿 Volunteer at Bedwellty Park! 🌿

Do you enjoy gardening, being outdoors, and helping to care for a valued local green space?
The Friends of Bedwellty Park are looking for volunteers to help maintain and enhance the beautiful grounds of Bedwellty Park in Tredegar.

🌸 Current focus: The Sensory Garden
They're particularly looking for volunteers to help care for the Sensory Garden, ensuring it remains a welcoming and enjoyable space for the whole community.

✅ Gain new skills
✅ Meet new people
✅ Support your local park
✅ Help preserve an important community asset

📅 Volunteer sessions: Every Tuesday at 10:00am (another day/time can be negotiated)

⚠️ Please note: Bedwellty Park closes at 5:30pm through the autumn and winter months, so all volunteering activities must take place before this time.

Bedwellty Park has been at the heart of the community for over a century, and volunteers play a vital role in helping to conserve this beautiful park for future generations.

Join The Saltways team on Tuesday 29th September at 2pm for a free, practical workshop where you'll learn how to create effective, high quality content on your phone.

In the session you will:

The GAVO BG Volunteer Awards are taking place in November 2026. We are keen to ensure that all our fantastic volunteers, organisations and Trustees across Blaenau Gwent are put forward for nominations.
