At last night's meeting we were delighted to welcome Jackie Dimmock, a retired police officer who spoke to us about her career in the force. She illustrated her talk, not with boring PowerPoints but rather, each anecdote was accompanied by a beautiful hand made quilted panel. Very interesting and entertaining.

After refreshments, we rounded off the evening with a light hearted quiz about TV detectives.

If you are interested in joining us why not come to our next meeting on October 6th or come and say hello at Pride on Saturday

Eastleigh Spitfires WI is 10 years old!

Last evening we celebrated our 10th birthday with a wonderful. nautical themed pirate party. We were delighted to welcome guests from other local WIs.

The meeting started with a presentation of certificates to 5 of the 8 members who have been with us since 2016. Then it was over to the magnificent Southampton Salty Sea dogs who entertained us with a glorious medley of sea shanties with lots of audience participation!

All that rope hauling, mast climbing and whaling gave us an appetite and there was an absolute banquet of a buffet for the ladies to enjoy, topped off with a magnificently decorated birthday cake.

Thanks to everyone who came along. Here's to the next 10 years šŸ„‚

A group of 31 Spitfires and guests went to Hampton Court today for a hot, but very enjoyable day out.
We visited Henry V111s appartments, the tudor kitchens, William111s rooms and the Georgian buildings. We saw magnificent tapestries and fabulous decorations.
The bravest ventured out to the gardens despite the very high temperatures and quite a lot of us indulged in much needed ice creams! A great day out with a lovely group of ladies.
