⭐️VOLUNTEERS’ WEEK 2026 ⭐️

The next Cadet Adult Volunteer we highlight is Officer Commanding 54 (Eastbourne) Squadron, Flying Officer Luke Williams.

Fg Off Williams has been an ever present volunteer at 54 Squadron since becoming a Civilian Instructor in 2021. Since then, Luke passed his SNCO board and was a Sergeant for 18 months before commissioning and eventually taking command as OC 54.

When asked what volunteering means to him, he said:

Supporting cadets in becoming valued members of society. Giving them not just the great experiences I had as a cadet but bigger and better ones. Volunteering for me isn’t just about delivering the cadet experience, as an OC I want to build amazing teams of dedicated volunteers who feel appreciated, supported and empowered in delivering the cadet experience growing our amazing organisation.

Evening all,

We're sorry to say the Unit is still closed and we are hoping to be reopened soon.

Those attending a new recruits night we will postponing this and as soon as we are reopened we will be rebooking.

Today OC 54 attended South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust HQ in Crawley to meet with Simon.

Simon who's Ex-RAF is the Deputy Chair for SECAmbs Armed Forces Network. Between them they recorded a podcast to be shared though their network.

Simon has since joined his local ATC unit and working on becoming a Civilian Instructor (CI).

It was great to be able to record a great talk for the network and give off all the benefits of being a CFAV and joining the cadet forces.
