As I lay in bed thinking back on the challenge my team and I attempted and completed this week, I can’t help but feel completely humbled by the love and support we/I received. So I just wanted to thank everyone for their words of encouragement and whose who were able to donate to our chosen charity!

If you missed it this is our Hike for Life journey across the South Downs.

This is our chosen charity, a local charity which’s supports children with cancer and my their families who are obviously going through horrendously tough times.

We are so close to reaching our fundraising target so please if you can donate anything at all, that would be awesome! Have a great day

Day 5 - Amazing weather and firm ground to Lewes

I’ve had an excellent morning and have reached Lewes.

An absolute legend of a friend came to collect my heavy bag for my final leg back to The British Queen I can’t wait to see those faces 😃

Leaving now hopefully be back between 6pm - 7pm

Day 5 - I’m on my own

The end of Day 4 never came, whilst we waited for our supply drop last night in Steyning we decided as the wind was strong and night was clear of rain, that we would walk through the night instead of camping.

We left Steyning around 10pm and stuck to the roads and lanes which run parallel to the route. We walked miles and miles in the dark and around 12.30am Sam had enough and threw in the towel. I don’t blame him every part of our bodies hurt and he was really missing home and his family and that was enough to stop him in his tracks and call for his lift.

I continued alone and found the services at Pycombe on the A23 and slept for 3hrs around the back of the garage.

I’m back on the road now and just want to get home. My feet are falling apart but I’m determined to finish this and not sleep alone on the downs tonight. My walking pace has slowed right down due to my feet falling apart and the blisters.

I want this to be my last day today 🙏

Thank you for everyone’s kind donations this has been the hardest physical and mental exercise I’ve ever put myself through and these donations and comments are life! ❤️

Day 4 - mostly dry

We’ve reached Steyning ready for our supply drop! Where we replenish water and food. Not going to lie we are really feeling this our feet are falling apart and our bodies are bruised and hurting!

This is incredibly tough mentally and physically we are exhausted.

The day started well as we chewed through some good miles but then we were hauled by rain again! We made a temporary shelter and tried to keep ourselves and kit dry. We lost nearly 3 hours of good day light but got into Steyning in the dark. But we are here!

We will make camp again tonight and get back on the track tomorrow! Conditions are tough but drier this evening
