🛠️ HELP WANTED – MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK! 🛠️

Our Scout Camp needs a little bit of support, and we're calling on our amazing community to lend a hand.

Whether you're a parent, grandparent, auntie, uncle, older sibling, next-door neighbour, Bob down the road, or simply someone who likes to help out, we'd love to see you there!

There are jobs big and small – general maintenance, tidying up, repairs, painting, clearing, and plenty more. No special skills are required; if you can spare an hour or two, it will make a huge difference.

Every bit of help is needed, and every bit of help is valued. Many of the facilities our young people enjoy rely on volunteers giving their time, and together we can keep our camp site looking its best.

So grab your work gloves, bring a friend, and come along. The more people who help, the quicker the jobs get done – and there's always plenty of tea, coffee, and good company!

If you'd like to get involved, comment below or send us a message.

Thank you for supporting local Scouting! ⚜️

As Volunteers' Week comes to a close, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our Scout volunteers 👏.

Your time, energy, enthusiasm, and dedication make a real difference to the lives of young people every week. Whether you're leading activities, organising events, supporting behind the scenes, or helping young people gain skills for life, your commitment is truly appreciated.

Scouting simply wouldn't be possible without volunteers like you. Thank you for everything you do and for the positive impact you have on our group and community.

Happy Volunteers' Week, and thank you for being amazing! 💜⚜️

What an absolutely fantastic Oakleaf Cub Hike last weekend! 🌟🥾

A huge congratulations to all of our Cubs for the incredible enthusiasm, teamwork, resilience, and positivity shown throughout the day. It was amazing to see everyone supporting one another, embracing every challenge, and enjoying the adventure together.

A very special thank you goes to our brilliant organiser and his team and all the volunteers who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the event such a success. From planning the route and activities to ensuring every Cub stayed safe, encouraged, and included, your dedication and commitment made the day truly unforgettable.

Events like this remind us what scouting is all about — friendship, adventure, community spirit, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the day so special for our Cubs and their families 👏

A huge shoutout to JJ our King's Scout Awardee who is heading to Windsor Castle today for The Scouts Day of Celebration & Achievement 🎉✨️

She will join fellow King's Scouts from across the UK for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration.

After parading through the streets of Windsor and into the Quadrangle of Windsor Castle, they'll be joined by 2,000 guests and award recipients who have been nominated for their bravery, heroism and outstanding contributions to Scouting. The King's Scouts will be reviewed by a member of the Royal Family before attending a private service of celebration in St George's Chapel 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🤴

In achieving the highest award for young people in Scouting, every King's Scout has demonstrated that they have the courage, the kindness and the commitment to tackle lifes adventures, to help others and to serve their communities 🌍⚜️

A huge congratulations to JJ and all this year's King's Scouts! 👏👏

We wish you a truly wonderful day and can't wait to hear all about it 🇬🇧🫡⚜️

Happy St George’s Day to all our fellow Scouters 🐉🏴

On this day, we celebrate St George — a symbol of courage, resilience, and doing what’s right, even when it’s difficult. It’s no wonder that Robert Baden-Powell chose him as the patron saint of Scouting ⚜️

May his example inspire us to be brave in our actions, strong in our values, and always ready to help others.

CALL FOR HELP – HEDGE PLANTING AT BUSHY WOOD! 🌱

Bushy Wood needs your help!

As part of the ongoing improvements to Devonshire Square, there is a large bundle of hedging plants ready to go in, and they're looking for volunteers to help get them planted over the next week.

If you’ve got some spare time during half-term (especially if you’ve got energetic young people who need to burn off some energy!), they’d love for you to come along and get involved. It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and support your local green space 🌿

Everything you need will be provided, spades, plants, and plenty of ground ready for digging. We’ll point you in the right direction and let you get stuck in!

Available dates: • 6th–11th April

Whether you can spare an hour or a whole morning, your help will make a real difference 🙌

Come and join Bushy Wood in getting these hedges in the ground!

What an amazing day the Eastbourne Cubs had last weekend at Cub Skills Day! 🌟

Our Cubs got fully stuck into a range of exciting activities, building their confidence and learning valuable outdoor skills along the way. From backwoods cooking (with some very tasty results! 🔥🍴), to mastering knot work, and sharpening their map reading and navigation skills, firelighting, science, pioneering and compass work, it was a day packed with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of smiles.

It’s fantastic to see the Cubs challenging themselves, supporting each other, and growing in independence with every activity. Days like this really show what Scouting is all about!

A huge thank you to our brilliant organiser and her team and all the volunteers who gave their time and energy to make the day such a success, we couldn’t do it without you 👏

Already looking forward to the next adventure! 🏕️
