Healthwatch East Sussex

Healthwatch East Sussex Your health and social care champion – we make sure decision makers hear your voice and use your feedback to improve care.

Healthwatch is the consumer champion for both health and social care. It exists in two distinct forms – local Healthwatch, at local level, and Healthwatch England, at national level. Healthwatch East Sussex enables people to share their views and concerns about their local health and social care services and understand that their contribution will help build a picture of where services are doing w

ell and where they can be improved
We are also able to alert Healthwatch England to concerns about specific care providers. In addition to this, Healthwatch East Sussex also provides people with information about their choices and what to do when things go wrong; this includes either signposting people to the relevant provider, or itself providing, support to individuals who want to complain about NHS services

Healthwatch East Sussex will provide, or signpost people to, information about local health and care services and how to access them, as well as provide authoritative, evidence-based feedback to organisations responsible for commissioning or delivering local health and social care services

This we would like to take this opportunity to recognise the fantastic contribution our incredible volunteers make.

From observations in health and care settings, to conversations with healthcare staff, patients and the public, our volunteers have gathered feedback and insight through a range of activities. This activity helps raise the profile of issues that matter when it comes to improving health and social care services.

Here is what a few of our volunteers have to say about their experience volunteering with us.

Julián María says: “For me, the best part about volunteering with Healthwatch is contributing to the improvement of health services.”

Charlotte says: “I have experience of using services and of working in the public sector and wanted to try and make a difference.”
