Retford District Multiple Sclerosis Society Support Group Retford District MS Support Group is part of the UK Charity the MS Society.

We are a small group with big ambitions, based around the Retford area of North Nottinghamshire we strive to support members with the struggles of daily life when living with MS. Retford District Support Group of the MS Society is all about providing support, whether it be practical, social or financial. We are here to help and if we can't....as the saying goes.....we know someone who can!

Hi All,
First of all, a big thank you for your support and camaraderie at yesterday's swimathon .
It was a lovely afternoon spent together either in or out of the water and as always showed what a lovely bunch of members and supporters of the group we have.
The total amount of lengths swum and counted within the 2 hours allocated was 492. I have consulted google who tell me that equates to 7.64287 miles - whether I pressed the right button is another matter, so might be worth checking!
A terrific achievement for our volunteer swimmers with or without MS and of an age ranging from 9 to 50+, you all did us proud, especially Teddy age 9 years who swam a total of 80 lengths as well as entertaining our spectators with his underwater acrobatic finesse!
Big thank you to RLC for providing the pool , seating and lifeguard all free of charge for the event - we certainly would not have been able to have the fundraiser without you.
The final total of sponsorship is not yet known but will be in the region of £700 + I will let you know the full amount once all monies received.
As always, all funds raised will go towards providing therapeutic support for people with MS and their families in Retford and Bassetlaw.
Thank you once again - anyone up for doing it all again next year?
