πŸ’™ Ever found it easier to open up to someone you've just met than to the people closest to you?

You're not being disloyal. It's not that you don't have a support network. You're just human.

Swipe through to find out why talking to a counsellor, someone who isn't in your life, can sometimes be the most freeing conversation you'll ever have. πŸ‘‰

If this resonates, we'd love to hear from you. Booking a first session with Kerith is simpler than you might think.

πŸ‚ The first day of autumn is here (although the weather may have had us thinking that autumn landed a good few weeks ago) and we think it deserves a proper check-in.

The change in season affects more of us than we realise, and it's worth paying attention to how you feel as the light starts to fade.

πŸ’œToday is World Alzheimer's Day.

When someone you love starts to fade, when familiar eyes look through you, when the person you've known all your life becomes someone you have to reintroduce yourself to, there are no words for what that grief feels like. And the hardest part? You're grieving someone who is still here.

This post is for the carers. The spouses, the adult children, the siblings and the friends who are quietly holding everything together while carrying a loss that doesn't have a name yet.

You are doing one of the most demanding, invisible, and emotionally exhausting things a person can do. And so often, you're doing it without being asked how you are.

Here's the truth: you cannot pour from an empty cup. Getting support for yourself isn't a luxury. It isn't selfish. It's what makes it possible to keep showing up for the person you love.

Counselling can give you a space to put down the weight for an hour. To grieve without guilt. To say the things you can't say to anyone else.

πŸ’™ If you need to talk, we're here. Get in touch today.

πŸ’™ Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

And there's something important we want you to know:

Su***de is not inevitable.

Suicidal thoughts can be interrupted. A conversation, a connection, a moment of being truly heard - these things change outcomes.

You don't need to be a professional to help someone. You just need to notice, to ask, and to listen without fear.

If someone in your life seems withdrawn, unlike themselves, or has said something that worried you - trust that feeling. Ask them directly how they're doing. Stay with the conversation even if it feels uncomfortable.

You could save a life. Not by having all the answers. Simply by showing up.

At Kerith, we're here to support anyone who is struggling- and anyone who is worried about someone they love.

πŸ“ž Get in touch today. 01355 265826 or via the link in our bio.

If someone is in immediate distress, contact Samaritans on 116 123, free, 24 hours a day.

'Am I bad enough to need counselling?'

We hear this more than you'd think. And the answer is: you don't need to be at rock bottom.

You might benefit from counselling if:
β†’ You're feeling overwhelmed and don't know why
β†’ You keep having the same arguments or patterns in relationships
β†’ You've been through something difficult and haven't had space to process it
β†’ You feel disconnected β€” from yourself or others
β†’ You're anxious, low, or just not quite yourself
β†’ You just want someone to talk to who isn't in your life

Counselling isn't just for crisis. It's for anyone who wants to understand themselves better and live with more ease.

🌿 August is National Wellness Month and we love a Monday intention.

We're not asking you to overhaul your life. We're asking one small question: what is ONE thing you could do for your wellbeing this week?

A walk. An early night. A conversation you've been putting off. Drinking more water. Saying no to something that drains you.

Small things, done consistently, change everything. πŸ’™

Drop your one thing in the comments πŸ‘‡
