❗️Implementation of Inshore Boating Operating Standard (IBOS) 4.0❗️

As part of a routine update cycle, IBOS 4.0 provides a clearer and more concise version of the previous framework of IBOS 3.0. It includes various updates designed to improve understanding and support safer, more consistent boating activity. Units should begin implementation and ensure all involved in boating are familiar with the changes.

Southeast District Naval Experience Week 2026

24/12/2025

Merry Christmas to the cadets, adult volunteers, parents and supporters of Southeast District.

All the Units have worked hard to deliver the Sea Cadet Experience again this year and I am proud of their achievements. The cadets and adults are a credit to the families of Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

Enjoy a well deserved break with your family and friends.

I look forward to working with you all again in 2026.

Best wishes,

Lt Cdr (SCC) M Janner-Burgess RNR
The District Officer

As we go into Remembrance weekend, how about we share a tribute to those we are proud of who have served/are serving in the Armed Forces. Family or friends. Just as a thank you.

I'll start with a bit of a departure from the norm: This is Ewan, and he's starting young. A Sea Cadet, age 14, he is the Royal British Legion Norfolk County Youth Standard Bearer and a member of the Old Catton Branch. Right now, he is in London preparing for the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall which will be televised on BBC One tonight, where he will be carrying the Norfolk County Standard. Feel free to comment and wish him luck!

Another Old Catton resident, Mike Howard, will also be appearing, speaking about his experiences in WW2. We have every reason to be proud of both of them, and grateful for their service.

Congratulations to all the cadets and adult volunteers from Southeast District and King’s Lynn Unit. It was an excellent parade through Ipswich. The Guard, Band, Cadet, Royal Marines Cadet and Platoons were first class. It was lovely to see the District come together and work as a team. The cadets are truly a credit to their parents. My thanks to Ipswich Unit for hosting. A very Proud District Officer. BZ!
