Feline Care is home to over 150 at any time, many of which are looking for new homes, some of which will spend the rest of their days living in peaceful sanctuary. When we set up our page in 2011 our parent charity was closing us down unless we could raise the £70,000 needed to buy our premises, in Norfolk, UK. For a small rescue it seemed an impossible task but after 14 hard weeks we made it, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of the general public. Since then we have gone on to help many hundreds of cats find better and safer lives and we look forward to doing so until our feline friends no longer need us. Sadly we know that day will not be in any of our lifetimes, but we can hope! Feline Care was originally founded in 1997 by The Cat and Rabbit Rescue Centre charity, based in West Sussex. The CRRC operate a strict policy never to put a healthy animal to sleep which leads to a number of cats who take longer to re-home. Feline Care was founded to take on these 'unwanted' moggies and offer a forever-home to those with nowhere else to go. Over the years Feline Care has evolved as many of the nervous cats we take in have slowly learnt to love humans and have since found their own homes. Now we operate a regular rescue and rehoming sanctuary but with a difference because we will always aim to be here for those who need us most. Our attitude to euthanasia: we will only help our friends go for their final sleep when it is absolutely justified for their individual journey. We do not practice 'contextually justified' euthanasia as we believe we owe more than that to the cats in our care, euthanasia should never be for human convenience.

Fox saw lovely Temi at Debenham Vets this morning for another check up.

He's doing really well after his femoral head and neck excision and his recovery is on track. His walking is so much better than pre-surgery already, he just has to build up his muscles next.

His spine is still quite tender but he's been given the ok to step up his exercise time. His xray shows just how severe the break was and why it was important to remove his tail to reduce the risk to his spinal cord.

His next check will be in 6 weeks when we hope he'll be given permission to be a full time crazy kitty at last 😻

Whenever we plan on trapping one of the ferals Meadow always uses the trap as a bed😹

We have 3 types of traps that we loan out:

🐾 Automatic trap;
This style trap has a pressure plate at one end and is best used when there is just a single cat in the area you are trapping.

🐾 Manual trap;
This style trap involves alot of patience! As it has a string attached to the door which you have to manually pull when the right cat goes into the trap. Perfect for when you've got a group of cats and you only need to capture a certain one. Also used for kittens as their is a lower risk of getting toes, tails and other body parts shut in the door if one was to stand on the plate of an automatic.

🐾 Family trap;
Again this style trap involves alot of patience! Designed in the same way a Manual trap is but just alot larger and can fit multiple cats in at once.

When it comes to using any of the humane traps it helps to get the cat or cats used to being fed in there first. We usually ask you to let us know when they are happily going in and out of the trap to eat and then we can make a plan for the next steps😺

Dear little Biddy came to us all the way from Bedford last week because she needed someone to love her as an emergency!

She's an old lady who had been living as a stray for a while, apparently after her owner passed away. She needed her painful eye to be removed urgently and we were well aware she'd have very limited options in life.

Within hours of arrival her eye was removed, special thanks to Cherry Tree Vets for opening early in the morning specially for her surgery!
