It’s Day Five of , and today we are thanking our volunteer partner organisations who respond to critical incidents across the east of England.

EEAST works with four schemes that provide volunteer doctors, critical care paramedics and nurses to respond to calls 24/7, supporting our own frontline teams.

They are SARS - Suffolk’s Emergency Medical Charity, NARS - Norfolk Accident Rescue Service, BASICS Essex and Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Emergency Critical Care Scheme .

Happy Friday everyone. It’s a busy day at NARS base with three separate teams on including two Emergency Responders vehicles and our First Responder vehicle.

As soon as our team on ‘ER03’ booked available they were immediately tasked to a Category 1 call.

May 2026: NARS in Action

Our team together attended 206 emergency incidents across Norfolk and Waveney last month.

📍 38 calls were patients in cardiac arrests, that’s more than 1 every day of the month

🚨 56% were Category 1 emergencies

🔄 5 patients achieved sustained return of circulation (ROSC)

👥 85% of cardiac arrests received bystander CPR before our arrival

🚗 We attended 30 road traffic collisions, nearly one every day of May

Thank you to our team and also partner agencies who help us deliver pre-hospital care across our region.

It’s a busy few days for the team at NARS as we continue to engage with communities across Norfolk and provide vital lifesaving education!

📍 On Saturday, you’ll find us Dereham Morrisons, meeting supporters and raising awareness of the work we do across the county.

📍 Also on Saturday, Doctor Chris C will be attending the Great Snoring Social Club, where he’ll be giving a talk about NARS, alongside a CPR and defibrillator demonstration.

📍 Before that, tomorrow evening, Joe C will be delivering a NARS CPR and Defibrillator Training Session for residents of Breckland, helping more people gain the confidence and skills to act in an emergency.

From fundraising and community talks to practical lifesaving training, we’re proud to be out and about supporting Norfolk communities every day.

If you see us at any of these events, please come and say hello!
