We send our deepest condolences to Jess’s family, friends and colleagues after tragically losing her life far too young. May she rest in peace…

It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of Jess McKee on Saturday. Jess was an Emergency Medical Technician based in Suffolk, and was set to graduate as a qualified paramedic in January.

Below is a statement from our Chief Executive Neill Moloney:

"On behalf of everyone at EEAST, I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Jess's family, friends and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.

"Jess was a much-loved colleague, known for her kindness, professionalism and dedication to patient care. She had a bright future ahead of her and was just a few months away from achieving her ambition of becoming a paramedic, which makes this loss all the more tragic.

"Jess's death has deeply affected colleagues across our organisation, and we are continuing to support those impacted. We would ask that the privacy of Jess's family, friends and colleagues is respected at this difficult time."

Yesterday, we were delighted to spend some time at Dereham Library, chatting with local people about NARS, what we do and the lifesaving work our teams carry out across Norfolk.

It was a fantastic opportunity to meet members of the community, answer questions and help people understand more about the vital work we do and why supporting NARS makes such a difference.

Dersingham Donations Continue!

The incredible support from the Dersingham community for NARS continues!

Yesterday, one of our Advanced Paramedics in Critical Care Carl Smith was delighted to receive a £300 cheque from his mother Jean Smith, as the village continues its fantastic efforts to raise money for NARS throughout 2026.

Through individual donations, bake sales, card sales and so many other fundraising efforts, well over £1,500 has now been donated to NARS from the Dersingham community.

We are incredibly grateful to Jean, her friends, and everyone across the village who continues to support our work. Every pound raised helps us continue providing our specialist emergency medical response when people need it most.

Today we have four separate NARS call signs on including two separate Critical Care teams, Emergency Responders & First Responders. Throughout the day and night they will be ready to assist East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust when needed.

NARS Summer Social!

Tonight, we swapped blue lights and busy callouts for a few hours of good food, great company and some much-needed downtime at our base in Dereham!

A huge thank you to our Office Manager Diane for organising a fantastic evening and bringing everyone together. It’s so important that our amazing volunteers and team get the chance to step away from the operational side of NARS, relax and enjoy some time together.

A special thank you to rapidreliefteam_uk for providing the food, Circus Head CIC for keeping us fuelled with some fantastic coffee, and of course our ice cream van for the perfect summer treat!

We’re incredibly lucky to have such a brilliant team at NARS, and evenings like this are a great reminder of the people behind the uniform.
