Sailing the Shipping Forecast, a new Channel 4 series on More4 presented by Reverend Richard Coles, sees Richard set sail to explore the Faeroes, Lundy, Thames and Wight, meeting the people within communities who are reliant on the sea.
In episode one, Richard joined the RNLI Lifeguards at Barry Island, in Wales, learning essential lifesaving hand signals as he discovers more about their work.
Episode three, which airs on Monday 3rd November, will see Richard head to the Isle of Wight where he meets the dedicated volunteers at Cowes RNLI Lifeboat. Chatting to volunteer Penny, Richard gains an insight into what being on the end of a pager 24/7 is like.
Richard then receives a guided tour of the boat building facilities at the Inshore Lifeboat Centre and gets to experience first-hand, what a sea trial on an Atlantic 85 lifeboat feels like.
