The GTC is the independent organisation representing British golf club employers and greenkeepers through a Board of Directors, Advisory Groups and one full-time employee. Golf greenkeepers play a vital role in golf course maintenance and management. Training

courses and qualifications are available to allow ambitious and enthusiastic greenkeepers to work towards becoming greenkeeping management professionals. The Greenkeepers Training Committee (the GTC) is dedicated to its objectives of improving and promoting the education and training of all golf greenkeepers. New golf courses are opening throughout Europe, to accommodate growing interest in the game. This means more opportunities for employment - and more chances for career advancement.

The BIGGA Professional Leadership Programme is here. Mapped at Level 4 and recognised by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), it has been specifically designed to bridge the gap between Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications.

Aimed at current and aspiring supervisors, team leaders, deputy head greenkeepers, first assistants and those transitioning into management roles, as well as experienced practitioners who have developed leadership responsibility organically but are seeking professional recognition.

On successful completion, graduates achieve Foundation Chartered Manager (fCMgr) status, providing formal accreditation and a strong platform for progression to higher-level study.

We are now taking expressions of interest for September 2026.
