Beautiful words from Amaryllis and Barbara. Sadly they, and many others in this that's TV york recording, are no longer with us, but it's wonderful to hear the impact our groups have on people 💖

💖 Barbara and Amaryllis 💖
We are so sad to announce the deaths of two loyal and much loved Singing For All ladies, Barbara Tildesley and Amaryllis Snook.
💖Amaryllis was a part of SFA from the start, such an elegant lady with a twinkle in her eye and lots of tales to tell about her younger days, her late husband, and her beloved family. Her favourite song to request was 'fields of gold'.
💖Barbara was a dedicated member of SFA from the week she moved to Easingwold. She regularly entertained the group with her own songs and poems, as well as her medleys of songs from the shows at tea break. Her poems were published in Easingwold Advertiser many times, and she appeared in The Press in York when she was chosen by Big Ian - to be the most senior performer at the 'forever young ' festive (picture below with Amaryllis who came along too!), and also performed at 'a night to remember', speaking to the huge crowd about how much Singing For All meant to her.
Both ladies loved to take part in my intergenerational concerts and events, bridging the generation gap with a love of music, kind hearts, and often cheeky smiles. Nicknamed 'the yeah girls', as they were apparently not allowed to say 'yeah' when they were young, they joined in heartily with the 'yeahs' in our signature tune, 'Monday Monday'.
We will raise a cup of tea in their honour at Singing For All and send much love to the families of both ladies at this sad time.

Our Sheila is back...and she's still got it!
Sheila has been much missed at York SFA but today, thanks to Angie's help, she was back and in great voice.
KEEP WATCHING and pop the sound on to hear Sheila's beautiful voice with her message for us all.

It was lovely to be back to start the SFA Summer 2 Term today. We remembered a much-loved former singer with her favourite song, we sang a wide range of other favourites including lots of songs from the shows today, and threw blankets and scarves around while singing our new warm-up song.
Plus tea, cake, and raffle of course!
Get in touch if you know someone who'd like to join us in Easingwold or York .
