It’s spinning club Sunday! I’ll be in our fleece & fibre hub today 12-4, working on this rad Shetland braid I bought during Wool Week 2025. I know of a couple more spinners intending to drop in. If you have a project on the go and fancy some cosy time spinning in company, why not join us today?

None of our regular groups are on this week, as we are away up north for Shetland Wool Week. Things may be a bit quiet on the homefront but we have been busy in the background, adding some new offerings to our event schedule: crochet pumpkins, painted skulls, decorate-your-own-yarn-bowl and the next couple Saturday Stitchers. We have also loaded up booking links for our next Makers’ Groups blocks (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday mornings - free to attend!). Check out our website (What’s On button) or Eventbrite for more info and to book.

The beautiful natural colours of our dye garden adorned bundles of British Milk Sheep, Jacob, Bowmont, Shetland x Castlemilk Moorit and alpaca for the spinning workshop we programmed for the wonderful Ute Amann-Campbell tour group that visited Birkhill yesterday. What a day! And it’s put us in mind of some spinning ourselves so we are very much looking forward to our wheel spinning drop-in group tomorrow 12noon-4pm. Spinners welcome - just bring your wheel and a project. Or you can rent one of ours. ☺️
