I’m reaching out on behalf of Early Years Village CIC (Woodfield Tots), which I’ve had the privilege of running for the past 5 years at Cam Youth and Community Centre. Our centre supports so many people throughout the week—families with very young children, youth club members, cadets, and the elderly community.
Our toilets are in serious need of an upgrade to better serve everyone. Just before Christmas, we were thrilled to win a grant for a new changing table that can be used by children up to age 7 (much needed, since the current one only fits up to 18 months!). Unfortunately, the baby changing space is too small for the new table, and the men’s toilet only has one stall but space for the new changing table. The committee has decided it would be best to make all the toilets single-use and accessible to all ages and needs.
As a charity-run community centre, we rely on local support and donations. We hope to raise £1,000 to start upgrading the toilet room that will benefit the most people—but in the future, we’d love to raise £4,000–£6,000 to overhaul all three toilets.
