All day today, for twenty four whole hours, our daily costs have been donated in loving memory of Rita Mason with a ‘Pay for a Day’ donation. 💚
Rita’s daughter Kelly shared the following words with us:
“Today marks 10 years since my Mam sadly passed away at St Cuthbert's Hospice, and we are incredibly proud to continue supporting the essential work of the Hospice by having 24 hours of care dedicated in her memory.
Mam passed away at the Hospice after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. During her time in the In-Patient unit the care she received was outstanding. The staff were absolutely fantastic, not only in the care they provided to my Mam, but also in the support they gave to me, my Dad, our family and friends during those last precious days together.
Over the past 10 years, we have continued to support the Hospice in a number of ways, including donations at special occasions such as Christmas and birthdays, donating items to the Hospice shops, and our leaf on the memory tree in the Hospice garden.
I have also taken part in the Durham City Run over the last three years, with all funds raised going to support the Hospice.
Over the years I have been fortunate to receive some very generous donations from family and friends. Many have chosen to contribute because they, or someone close to them, have experienced the care and support provided by the Hospice and understand the difference it makes to patients and their families.
I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone who has donated in Mam's memory over the last 10 years, helping us to raise the money for this latest Pay for a Day.”
