A strong statement here, objecting to the decision by DUS to invite Helen Joyce to one of their events, despite her troubling past statements regarding trans people, and her involvement with S*x Matters, an "organisation with explicit connections to organisations listed by the SPLC as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups" (Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security).

As ever, Durham UCU as a branch remains committed to ensuring trans, nonbinary, and intersex colleagues and students feel safe and valued in our university.
