A launch even for Ahmed Al-Naouq and Pam Bailey's We Are Not Numbers in paperback is happening at The People's Bookshop in Durham on Friday 10th July. It's hosted by Durham PSC, and will feature four panelists from Gaza speaking on the lives, experiences and prospects of Gazans.

Ahmed Al-Naouq will be signing books following the event.

A strong statement here, objecting to the decision by DUS to invite Helen Joyce to one of their events, despite her troubling past statements regarding trans people, and her involvement with S*x Matters, an "organisation with explicit connections to organisations listed by the SPLC as anti-LGBTQ+ hate groups" (Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention and Human Security).

As ever, Durham UCU as a branch remains committed to ensuring trans, nonbinary, and intersex colleagues and students feel safe and valued in our university.
