Petition: Mandate standardised cancer training for all GPs in England

We ask the Government to mandate cancer training for all GPs in England, requiring all GPs to complete mandatory, standardised training on cancer red-flag symptoms, with formal assessment, regular revalidation, NHS England regulation, and GMC linkage to improve early diagnosis.

December 2016 was the month my world fractured.
At 32 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 high-grade follicular non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I went from being a busy mum to sitting my children down to tell them I had cancer. I promised them life would be hard, but that I would fight to be there to hold them after school.
The reality of those first few weeks was brutal:
A massive biopsy that left my arm useless, followed by a blood clot and an infection that needed packing for 6+ weeks.
The terrifying words from the consultant: "It's treatable, but not curable."
When asked if I wanted a coffee, I wanted a massive vodka. Instead, I went to the pub and used wine to numb a level of pain I had never felt before.
Without my family and friends helping me map out that calendar, I would have drowned. But the next day, I woke up strong. I didn't know how, but I knew I had to show up for my kids—even on the days they saw me at my worst, when the kitchen bin was my best friend.
I am not the person I was before December 10th, 2016. I still fight every day to put on a smile. My smile used to light up a room; these days, some days I can barely light a candle. But I am still here.
I don’t share my story often because I prefer to be the one caring for others. But seeing this memory pop up on World Blood Cancer Day reminded me how far I've come. To anyone else walking this tightrope: you are not alone. This is the start of my story. 💚 Day

These flowers are beautiful and strong and keep giving just more beautiful as the days go on.

Sorry.
We still have bday cake to eat.

The lovely Josie will be coming in for a wonderful crystal-making workshop. This fantastic event is all thanks to the beautiful Cheryl, who used her amazing big birthday celebration to raise the funds to make this happen for us! 💖
