Move County Durham We want to make sure that everyone, can move more as part of their everyday life. Move County Durham is a Durham County Council programme.

If you’d like to move more, get out and about, enjoy the outdoors, improve your mental health and wellbeing or make some new friends then why not try a Move activity or programme. Taking place across the County, there’s everything from a craft group and seated exercise class to swimming and an outdoor walk.

A choice of a 90-minute wellbeing walk or a gentle paced walking session on an enclosed track.

πŸ“ Gentle Steps: 1:00pm – 2:30pm

At 12 noon, enjoy a special performance by She's Got Brass. Whether you're taking part in the Big Walk or the Gentle Steps session, you're welcome to enjoy the music and stay for an optional bring-your-own picnic (weather permitting).

Yesterday we had the pleasure of celebrating Margaret's 80th birthday- Move Durham is part of Margaret's life, she attends a session every day with us in Shildon, singing, walking, bowls, seated exercise sessions. Over the years she has made so many new friends and the vast majority of them came along to surprise her yesterday. We had a wonderful time celebrating.

Wednesdays: 11:15 – 12:15 (starting again 1st July)

Thursdays: 17:30 – 18:30

No experience is needed – you don’t even need to know the rules! It’s all about having a bit of fun, a wiggle, and a giggle 😊
We don’t play full matches for the whole hour either – instead, we enjoy a variety of passing and shooting games in a relaxed, welcoming environment. You’ll be made to feel right at home!

Our Witton Gilbert walkers enjoyed a fantastic walk in the sunshine on Wednesday evening, and followed this up with a picnic afterwards. Their next evening walk is Wednesday 15th July from St Michael & All Angels Church at 6pm.
They also meet every Friday at the church at 10am.
