How does early access work?

When we release an activity early to our email subscribers, you’ll receive a special booking link or code in your newsletter.

Simply follow the instructions in the email to book during the early-access period. Once that period ends, any remaining spaces will be opened to everyone else.

This means you’ll have the opportunity to secure your places before bookings go live to the wider public, wherever early access is offered.

🌈💖 INTRODUCING OUR NEW WEEKDAY SENSORY EXPLORERS! 💖🌈

We’re so excited to announce something new coming to Unique Abilities SEND Group! 🎉

Introducing our Weekday Explorers sessions at Jubilee Fields Community Centre in Shildon! 💚

We know that not every child attends school full-time, and we wanted to create a welcoming, inclusive space where toddlers, home-educated children and their families can come together to explore, play, learn and grow. 🥰

✨ Toddler Explorers (0–4 years)
A fun, relaxed sensory session filled with sensory play, messy play, arts and crafts, soft play and opportunities to explore, discover and make new friends.

🚀 Home Education Explorers (5–16 years)
A friendly and supportive environment for home-educated children to enjoy creative activities, hands-on experiments, educational activities, problem-solving and socialising with other children.

💛 No diagnosis is required, and everyone is welcome! Whether your child has additional needs, is home educated, or simply loves exploring and learning through play, we want you to feel part of our community.

📅 Starting Wednesday 4th November 2026
🕙 10am–11:30am
📍 Jubilee Fields Community Centre, Shildon
🔄 Running weekly during term time
💷 Just £4 per child
👨‍👩‍👧 Parents/carers must stay for the session.

🍂🐑 TOMORROW’S THE DAY! OUR FINAL FARM THERAPY SESSION BEFORE WINTER! 🚜🌿

Tomorrow we’ll be heading back to SCNE at the Farm for our final Farm Therapy Club session of the season before we take a little winter break! 🧡

We’re looking forward to another evening of animal care, outdoor adventures, crafts, mud kitchen fun, den building and, of course, spending time with our wonderful furry friends! 🐐🐓

Our Farm Therapy Club gives children and young people the opportunity to connect with animals and nature, build confidence, develop new skills and enjoy time outdoors in a welcoming, inclusive environment.

📅 Tuesday 13th October
⏰ 5pm–6:30pm
📍 SCNE at the Farm, Leadgate, Consett
💷 £5 per child

Although we’re sad to be finishing for the winter, we can’t wait to make our last session a special one! 🍁

🧡 LET’S TALK ABOUT ADULT ADHD — IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THE KIDS! 🧡

October is ADHD Awareness Month, and we want to shine a light on something that doesn’t always get talked about enough: ADHD in adults, particularly parents.

So many parents spend years advocating for their children, attending appointments, fighting for support and learning everything they can about ADHD. But along the way, some begin to recognise the same traits in themselves.

Could it be that the struggles they’ve experienced throughout their own lives finally have an explanation?

Adult ADHD can look like a mind that never switches off, struggling to start or finish tasks, forgetfulness, emotional overwhelm, overthinking, masking difficulties and feeling completely exhausted from trying to keep everything together.

For many adults, particularly women, ADHD may go unrecognised for years. Some are only diagnosed in adulthood, after their child receives a diagnosis and they begin to connect the dots.

🧡 You can be a brilliant parent and still struggle.
🧡 You can be capable and still feel overwhelmed.
🧡 You can spend your life supporting others and still need support yourself.
🧡 You are not lazy, you are not failing, and you are not alone.

At Unique Abilities SEND Group, we believe conversations about additional needs should include parents, too. Our experiences matter, our struggles deserve to be heard, and it’s never too late to seek answers.

This ADHD Awareness Month, let’s make space for honest conversations about adult ADHD, late diagnosis and the realities of navigating life while neurodivergent.

We have listened to you (parents and carers) and brought you…….

Brand-new weekly sensory sessions for babies, toddlers and home-educated children! 💜💙

Join us for a fun, relaxed and welcoming session where children can explore, play, learn and grow in a supportive environment.

Our sessions are suitable for:
✨ SEND children
✨ Babies & toddlers aged 0–4
✨ Home-educated children
✨ Children who are exploring their sensory needs or can become easily dysregulated
✨ No diagnosis required

Each session will offer a mixture of sensory play, messy play, arts & crafts, soft play, movement and opportunities to explore at your child’s own pace.

💜 What to expect:
• A safe and welcoming environment
• Sensory stimulation and exploration
• Child-led play
• Opportunities to build confidence and social skills
• Activities suitable for different abilities and needs
• A relaxed atmosphere where children can simply be themselves

This October, Unique Abilities SEND Group is getting together to WALK THE ADHD WAY! 🧡🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

📅 Saturday 24th October 2026
⏰ 10am start
📍 Meeting at Durham Cathedral – main entrance

We’ll be walking together from Durham Cathedral, through Durham city centre and up towards Wharton Park, finishing with a walk around the park before the children can enjoy the play area and we can grab some refreshments. 🏰🌳

This isn’t just a walk… it’s about raising awareness, celebrating ADHD and showing that every brain works differently. 🧠🧡

✨ EVERYONE IS WELCOME! ✨
Mums, dads, children, grandparents, siblings, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends — bring everyone! And yes… even the dogs! 🐶🧡

👕 WEAR SOMETHING ORANGE!
🧡 Let’s fill Durham with orange and make some noise for ADHD awareness!
