🥱🥱Meanwhile, we've been asked to reply yet again to comments from Durham's deputy leader🐓 claiming equality is done, and Pride is now a form of celebrating “victimhood,” repeating the same pick‑me mentality and hypocrisy while hate crime rises and his party leader says same‑sex marriage was a mistake🫡

👀🤔 Even Durham County Council’s Chief Executive — with 35 years of non‑political service — says he’s never seen behaviour like this, and Reform councillors themselves are now raising their own concerns about misinformation and ridicule of mental health from their leaders. Luckily, they abolished EDI processes and training👏 Go Reform 🤣🤣🤣

🏳️‍🌈🌈 Our Chair warned about this last year, and now even councillors who changed internal processes to shield their colleague’s actions have had enough, because this isn’t normal disagreement; it’s a sustained pattern of hostility 😔😔Durham deserves better!

We’re proud to be flying the Pride Flag 🏳️‍🌈 at the council’s head office in Rickmansworth today in support of Herts Pride. The flag was raised by the Council Leader, Chair of the Equalities Forum, the organisers of Herts Pride, and council staff.

Cllr Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE, Leader of Three Rivers District Council said: "We are absolutely delighted to be sponsoring Herts Pride again for the 14th year. This is a vibrant and inclusive celebration which is open to all members of the community. We are immensely grateful to all those organisations who help make the event possible every year. 🌈🏳️‍⚧️We are shocked (not) that some folks have been ruffled by our recent posts standing up for Pride values, telling us we are falsely portraying the deputy leader as a little wannabe Trump🫡👍😔

🏳️‍⚧️Let’s look at the evidence: the regular misinformation he shares on X, the impulsive funding decisions announced on the platform, or perhaps it’s just the photo of the “Make Durham Great Again” caps. 🤔 🤣🤣🤣 Maybe it’s all just a coincidence, but our little Trumpette certainly doesn’t hide his devotion to his idol.

🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🌈FYI - Durham has always been a great community, and we are proud of the people who stand with us to show the world that hate and division have no place here. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈Our local Trump wannabe is at it again on X! After we shared a post encouraging our followers (yes, people on Facebook who follow us) to remember the values of Pride and reject hate and division, especially in light of the Berlin Pride attack 😔

🌈Now he’s publicly claiming, on behalf of Durham County Council, that they’ll pull funding for the Durham Pride road closure because we dare to disagree with him😱 This little Trumpette even makes council decisions on X, just like his hero 🫡🫡

Fact check: Durham County Council has never funded our road closure.😱

Please follow us, but only if you believe in an inclusive community where everyone is respected; let's keep working together to make that a reality, despite misinformation and division.

🌈 It’s deeply troubling to see some blaming the recent attack on Berlin Pride on people just for “celebrating and shoving sexuality into normal people’s faces.” This rhetoric shifts blame onto victims and ignores the real causes of hate and violence in our society.🏳️‍⚧️

😟Even more worrying, political opportunists are using this tragedy to push anti-immigrant narratives. Let’s be clear: the attack on Berlin Pride is NOT an immigrant problem. Blaming immigrants is not only wrong, but it also betrays the true spirit of Pride: solidarity, diversity, and acceptance.🏳️‍⚧️🌈🏳️‍🌈👀

👂Problems at Pride don’t come from people’s backgrounds. They come from prejudice, intolerance, and a lack of understanding. The answer isn’t pointing fingers; it’s coming together and standing up for each other, no matter where we’re from.💖
