19th Durham Scouts & Nevilles Cross Explorers 19th Durham Scouts | Neville’s Cross

We are a local scout group based in Neville’s Cross, Durham. John’s Church in Neville’s Cross.

19th Durham Scout Group is now a thriving group with Beaver, Cub and Scout sections that meet regularly at the Nelson Hall Scout Hut, set in a green area behind St. The 19th Durham Scout Group opened in January 2006 following the merger of the 1st Durham Scout Group and the 9th Durham Scout Group. This helped both groups: the 9th Durham group had a building but no Cub or Beaver sections and declining Scout numbers, while the 1st Durham group had good Beaver numbers, but no building of its own.

Can you believe we have been home a week already?

What an incredible Summer Camp it has been for the 19th Durham Scouts. Over several days, our Scouts have taken on new challenges, learned practical skills, explored new places, cooked their own food, got thoroughly soaked, enjoyed plenty of sunshine…

Today scouts were pretty tired after last nights special activity at iFly Indoor Sky Diving!

After a later start, scouts went on a self led hike for approx 4.5 hours around the local area. Remotely supervised, not that they needed it, as they did exceptionally well.

Tea tonight is pizza! Prepared by scouts, Hand cooked by our pizza chef, Mr Leck!

Today’s adventure, Chester Zoo!

We’ve spent all day there today and come back to a later tea. Bangers, Mash, Gravy, Yorkshires and veg. It’s hot in the kitchen tonight.

A chilled evening and a slightly later start tomorrow is on the cards. Some of the scouts are a little worn out.
