THIS is why we do our SENDsational Awards Gala!

Not to be showy. Not to show off. But to celebrate the everyday people who are out there living, breathing and working in the world of SEND, often without a second thought for the incredible difference they make. ❤️

When we started sending out our nomination emails, we received replies saying things like, “I’ve never been nominated for anything before!”

And we genuinely thought… HOW?! Because you are utterly AMAZING! 🥹

And that’s exactly why we’re doing this.

To recognise and celebrate the exceptional people in our community who give so much, work so hard, love so fiercely and often receive so little recognition. The people who don’t ask for praise, don’t expect awards and probably don’t even realise just how incredible they are.

And then we see videos like this, of one of our littlest young carers reading out her nomination. 🥹❤️

THIS is what it’s all about.

Because every single person deserves to feel seen, valued and celebrated. And if our awards make even one person realise just how special they are, then we’ve already achieved something wonderful. 🌟

Our SEND community deserves to be celebrated. Every single bit of it.

💚 World Mental Health Day 💚

Today I choose me! 🙋🏻‍♀️

Being a parent carer can be tough on your mental health. ♥️

And as parent carers ourselves, we get it. There’s no magic advice we can give to make the difficult days easier.

But something we’re really mindful of, and something we’re guilty of ourselves, is not always choosing ourselves. 🥹

We’re so busy looking after everyone else, meeting their needs and making sure they’re okay that we often forget about our own.

So today, we asked our wonderful trustees and volunteers to share one thing they would choose to do for themselves.

Some answers are funny, some are simple, but they all have something in common, putting ourselves first, even if just for a moment.

And we wonder, if we could all make that conscious decision to do one little thing for ourselves each day, what a difference it might make. 💚

Because our mental health matters too. Not just when we’re struggling, but every single day.

So, today we want to ask YOU…

We have had an amazing amount of nominations (close to 400 now 🫣) which just shows what amazing people we have in our SEND community. ❤️

However, with that many nominations for our independent judging panel to get through, we are going to have to close them a little earlier than planned!

So, nominations will now close Sunday 11th October! 🤩

Thank you so much to everyone who has nominated so far it has been absolutely amazing seeing them all come in! ❤️

Honestly, thank you SO much to every single person who has taken the time to nominate someone. Watching the nominations come through and reading the incredible appreciation for the individuals, families, professionals and organisations quietly making a difference is just amazing. It really does show how truly special our SEND community is.

🌟 Nominations will close in two weeks, so there is still plenty of time to get yours in!

And just to explain what happens next… Little SENDsations does NOT choose the finalists. Once nominations close, all nominations will be passed to an independent judging panel, who will have the incredibly difficult job of narrowing them down to our finalists.
