We are a unique and innovative scheme that Engages, Diverts and Develops Young People across our county. The EDDY People project has been running successfully since its launch in 2006, having been developed from its highly praised predecessor, the Durham Youth Enterprise Scheme. The EDDY People project provides well-structured and dynamic educational, community and activity based programmes that s

erves Co. It is led by Durham Agency Against Crime (D.A.A.C.) and Durham Constabulary and supported by a variety of both public and private sector partners. The programmes are designed to engage with and develop groups of young people aged 11-16 years old through a variety of community safety initiatives that tackle intergenerational issues, address tolerance levels and improve community cohesion. We also provide shorter projects in relation to primary to secondary transition, outdoor activity based workshops, youth centre support programmes and local policing initiatives. "The EDDY People's mission is to ensure that young people in Co Durham and Darlington are seen as assets to their communities by raising aspirations and developing their citizenship skills."
