Our latest public webinar is now online!

It’s a thought-provoking discussion with one of the world’s leading researchers investigating compounds that might slow ageing:

Is ageing research a luxury?

Professor Gordon Lithgow is certain that no, it is not: ‘I think the best way to cure cancer is to study ageing [… ] Almost all the research around Alzheimer’s disease is treating the symptoms and not the cause. And what is the cause? Ageing.’

But what about the ethics of injecting healthy people to slow ageing?

This is a great introduction to a complex subject! Watch the recording and let us know what you think!

In this months public event we have a conversation between Professor Gordon Lithgow of the Buck Institute for Research on Ageing ...

People in the UK are spending FEWER years in good health than they were 10 years ago. Diet and exercise can help reverse this trend, but how close are we to having drugs that can help people stay healthier for longer?

Find out at our next public event on Wednesday 6 May at 6.30pm (UK), when our scientist expert, Professor Gordon Lithgow, will be in conversation with non-scientist Daphna Stern: https://bsra.org.uk/events/2026-online-public-lecture-series/ Everybody welcome!

BSRA Trustee and Communications lead, Brad Elliott, recently featured on the Beyond Longevity podcast, in conversation with Daphna Stern.

Brad, a researcher and lecturer at University of Westminster, discusses biomarkers, muscle, and what ageing research still cannot explain... which, it turns out, is quite a lot!

It's a fascinating discussion!
