Dunstable Swimming Club was founded in 1975. The club was a “break away” from what was then the Luton & Vauxhall swimming club. The founder members were Ron Aggat, Elaine and Derek Filmer, Aubrey Fernandez, Peter Crick, David Moss and Dennis Page. Aubrey Fernandez became the first Chairman and Dennis Filmer the Chief Coach. From relatively humble beginnings, the club grew into a very successful co

mpetitive club, with Paul Bavister representing England and Debbie and Helen Page competing for the English Synchronised Team. In the past, a significant number of Dunstable swimmers have qualified and competed at the GB nationals. The club is again developing into a competitive and ambitious one and has seen some great achievements through 2016 and into 2017 with a number of our performance squad swimmers having gone on to win many medals around the country. We have approximately 168 swimming members of varied abilities up to National Qualification standard. We compete in a number of different leagues throughout the year including the Arena League. Dunstable Swimming Club is always looking to compete at the highest levels and with some 15 swimmers now selected to represent Bedfordshire, this is a great achievement. The club is becoming more competitive under the guidance of head coach Tim Hutton who comes with a wealth of experience in swimming coaching and development. Currently the club has seen a consistent year on year improvement at county, national and regional competitions. No doubt there will be more boys and girls shining through and showing great potential over the next exciting 12 months and beyond.

A massive thank you to Dunstable’s own, The Greek Bakers, who donated lovely pastries for our club’s presentation night. The Nutella croissants were a big hit!

Check them out as they offer a unique blend of traditional Greek baking with a modern twist. Thanks again!

Fantastic result from our swimmers who performed in round National Arena League last night!

It was an exciting night of racing which saw our team finish in 2nd place, just 1 point from first place!

Fantastic weekend at this year’s Winter Regional Championships with phenomenal success from DSC. Including many PBs & qualifications for Finals!

A huge well done to Jess M who made a total of four finals, winning two regional 🏅Gold medals in the Open Age 100IM and 200IM races! She also won a 🥈Silver medal in the 200M Free! Well done Jess!

Aimee incredibly made two finals as a 13 year old in the 100IM (finishing 7th) and 100M Fly (finishing 6th), competing in the Open age group against girls of all ages! In all of her 7 races, she finished top ranking 13 year old!

Even though hindering by a shoulder injury, Evie still performed as the second highest 13 year old in the 800m free. Second 13 year old in the 200IM and 4th age group in the 50m breast!

Connie Flitton had an amazing pb and finished 11th overall in the 800m Free (as the 2nd fastest 14 year old).

Stewart B had pb’s in the 200IM (finishing 3rd in the 15 year age group) and 100m free (7th in age group). He also finished his 100m breaststroke and 100IM as 7th and 3rd in age group.

Well done to Abi P on her DSC debut, competing in the 50mtr breast and Fly (finishing 9th and 11th in the 14 year age group).
