West Coast Regional Pork Link Champion and Reserve Scottish Pork Link Champion 🥈at the Scottish Craft Butcher Awards today — not too shabby for an auld boy from Dunoon with a sharp knife and a love for sausages.

Add that to my Champion Square Sausage win and I think it’s fair to say…

BURNS NIGHT SUPPER POSTPONED.

Due to the weather outlook we have decided to postpone the Burns Night Supper until a later date.

Tickets will still be good for the revised date, but we will offer refunds to anyone who wants one.

The funeral of Brother Hamish Bone will take place at Greenock Crematorium at 12:00 on Thursday 30th January and thereafter to the Pipe Band Hall on Johnston Terrace in Dunoon for 1:30pm. All are welcome to attend.

A very sad day here in Lodge Dunoon Argyll as we mourn the sad passing of our Lodge Piper, the irrepressible Bro. Hamish Bone.

A born and bred Dunoon man, he was truly one of the towns last real characters. A plumber to trade and lifelong member of 335, he loved his family, his Lodge, his golf and the famous Glasgow Rangers (although it’s safe to say the latter certainly tested that love over the last few years).

He was also famous for taking up the bagpipes in later life and I don’t think I’m speaking out of turn when I say that what he lacked in natural talent, he made up for in enthusiasm and unbridled joy.

God bless and Godspeed wee man, the Lodge won’t be the same without you.
