I met with our local MSP recently and the resilience of our local community was brought up with regard to food resilience. I hope that I planted a seed but ….

Over 10 years ago, Marine Protected Areas were designated, and since then we have been waiting for proper protections to come into place 🌊

But now we may be close...

Minister for Marine, Agriculture and the Islands, Jim Fairlie MSP, has stated:

“In the coming weeks, we will consult on further protections for inshore MPAs and priority marine features”

This is an important step forward but after so many delays, we cannot let the momentum drop now - share this post and keep pressure on the Scottish Government to publish the consultation! 💪🐟

We actually talked about an artist/poet that in our last book for the Web of Life book club had his blood and other fluids regularly tested for toxins as part of a project. The results, like Martin’s were quite alarming. What lies inside of us can be a story of our thoughtless and dangerous treatment of the world in which we live.

The book was Nature’s Genius by David Farrier
