A great visit on Wednesday afternoon from the ladies of Mid Clyth SWI. We had a lovely afternoon with them, and great to hear them reminisce about how a lot of what they saw reminded some of them of times gone by. Here is a picture of them outside the cottage, with Bob and Irene, 2 of our volunteers on the right of the picture.

You too could have a visit to the cottage. Are there any clubs or organisations out there who would like a visit? If so, please get in touch with us on here. And it doesn't have to be at our normal opening times, which are Tuesday to Friday, 2.00 to 4.30 pm.

A lovely walk down memory lane in auntie Mary Ann's house was what Della Calder said when she was in Scotland on holiday from Houston, Texas. She recalls sitting on the box bed as a child when she paid the cottage a visit, just like in the photo. It was lovely having you Della.

That's all the cleaning done and we're ready to open this Friday, 1st May. We'll be open Tuesday to Friday till the end of September, 2.00 to 4.30.

Looking forward to lots of visitors over the season. A big thank you to all our volunteers who have once again joined us for another season. However we are still looking for more volunteers to enable us to open more days. Private message on here to find out more, if you think you have a couple of hours during the week to spare. Another group visit last Thursday that I managed to photograph before they left. Some of the members of the Caithness retired Unison group, seen here with some of the volunteers. It's always lovely to have groups come along to see the cottage. If there are any groups out there who would like a visit, please get in touch. We're open till the 3oth September.

We had a lovely visit yesterday, Tuesday, from a senior group from Pennsylvania. They were in Scotland for 10 days and we were delighted to welcome them on their pre-arranged trip. Some of them had knowledge of crofting life and found the whole tour about Mary Ann's life very interesting. This is them in the garden in front of the cottage just before they left. A busy morning at the cottage yesterday, Sunday. We had a Glenton Tours bus with 42 people visit. They thoroughly enjoyed their time with us. Thanks to the volunteers who gave up their time to welcome them, including getting the fire on!! If you have a group who would like a guided tour of the cottage, please get in touch.
