A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing to Ballinluig – Reduced Lane Widths and Overnight Traffic Management

As part of the ongoing A9 Dualling: Tay Crossing to Ballinluig project, temporary traffic management measures will be introduced on the southbound A9 between Ballinluig and south of the Rotmell junction.

From Monday 15 June 2026, overnight works will take place between 7.00pm and 6.00am for approximately two weeks to allow the installation of temporary safety barriers. During this period, road users may encounter:

• Southbound lane closures at various locations across the site.
• Temporary traffic signals and convoy working.
• Reduced lane widths on the southbound carriageway.

The changes are being introduced to facilitate construction activities and improve safety for pedestrians using adjacent active travel routes.

From 22 June, designated holding areas for abnormal loads will be in operation:

Northbound A9: Layby 36N, north of Bankfoot.
Southbound A9: Layby 34, north of Ballinluig.

Motorists are asked to take extra care, follow all signage and allow additional time for journeys.
