This morning Grainne and I met a lovely group of students from St Patrick's Grammar School Armagh. The head of the religion department had invited us into the school to tell the boys all about the work of Mary's Meals because they are due to start
learning about charities. 💙 We used a PowerPoint presentation and the new film Lette 2026 to impart the information.
I must say that for a group of 14/15 year olds, their behaviour was exemplary. 👋 👋 👋 They listened attentively and at the end of the film they all said that they would like to help 🙏🩵. Already they have a charity football match organised for this coming Thursday. That's the way to do it lads!! Grateful thanks to Maria Campbell (head of religion) and to the other R.E. teachers for this opportunity to speak to the students about our favourite charity😀 🙏 ❤️

Hello everyone 😀. The children are well settled back at school and learning is under way. One of the best ways to boost your child's education is to encourage them to read. 📚 In our charity shop we have a great supply of children's books by various authors such as David Walliams and Michael Murpego. For the more reluctant reader we have many Tom Gates books which have a more attractive text with pictures and animations. Call in and have a look. Please share. 🙏

Mary's Meals sponsored loop walk from Omeath to Carlingford and back using the greenway, organised by Sharon Loughrane . 3k + raised!!!!Brilliant Sharon !

One of our volunteers organised a sponsored charity walk from St. Jude's Shrine in Omeath to Carlingford and back to the Shrine on Saturday last. . It is a beautiful part of the country 😃. Most of the walk was on the greenway which is ideal from a scenic point of view but also it is much safer. There was just one place where the walkers had to cross the main road and I kid you not it is at a very dangerous place , very close to a severe bend in the road☢ So my daughter Niamh and I who were on call stopped there and frantically waved down the vehicles from both sides 🚗🚙🚐🚜Thankfully all was well 🙏.
There were about 20 walkers which was a brilliant turnout considering the rain and it was the first Mary's Meals walk in this area. Well done Sharon.

The 'boss' (our lovely Pauline) and I visited summer camps in Newry Cathedral Parish centre and St Anthony’s Centre Craigavon to talk to the children about Mary's Meals. 😀We were delighted with the responses of the children who showed great interest and a willingness to help which was lovely to see😀. They made good on that offer as together they donated a total of £495.40 which is 4,954 meals🥣This is simply wonderful !!!!!! 😀👏🎉💙

Hi everyone😃. Wonderful news🎉🎉👏😃💙 So far this year our Mary's Meals volunteer group has raised enough funds to provide a free meal every school day to 2,730 starving children for a full year🙏 We are so grateful to all of our generous supporters who are so committed to this cause. 🙏 The harsh reality is that there are 59 million children of primary school age not attending school because of poverty and hunger 😔. We offer our sincere condolences to the husband, son and extended family of the late Mary Shannon. Mary was a dedicated supporter of Mary's Meals and a very close friennd of our fellow volunteer Bronagh Shields. She was a real lady and she will be sadly missed by so many. May her gentle soul rest in the peace of Christ. 🙏
