Brantry BARD

Brantry BARD Brantry Area Rural Development Association, a community group in the Brantry area and based at the B.A.R.D Centre, 65 Carrycastle Road, Brantry, BT701LT

The Brantry Area Rural Development Association was formed in 1983 when six people from the area got together and fight a number of problems that were strife in the area at the time - rural neglect, disappearing traditional music culture and customs, etc. That group very quickly grew and soon they had a committee. The group purchased a farmhouse and lands, formerly known as 'Floods', and from there

they had a base for the various community events that would be held there since. For many years a Brantry Bard Festival was run but as well as that many different user groups have used the premises for all kinds of events, since then. In 2013 the B.A.R.D. celebrated 30 years since its formation with a celebration festival and in 2014 they are again holding a summer festival of events including participation in hosting the Brantry Fleadh.

πŸ’šπŸŒΏ Thank You to Our Amazing Volunteers! πŸŒΏπŸ’š

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our litter pick at the Brantry Lough this afternoon. It was fantastic to see people of all ages coming together to help care for and protect this beautiful local space.

From our youngest volunteers to our most experienced community champions, every bag collected and every piece of litter lifted has made a real difference. Your time, effort and community spirit are greatly appreciated.

Together, we’re helping to keep the Brantry Lough clean, welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

πŸ’š Thank you for making our community a better place, one litter pick at a time!

A huge thank you to Building It Better NI for delivering such an inspiring DIY Workshop today and yesterday as part of our Ending Violence Against Women and Girls programme πŸ’œ

A special shoutout to Sarah, who was absolutely fantastic - knowledgeable, encouraging and genuinely passionate to teach women these crucial DIY skills to empower them. She created such a welcoming environment where everyone felt comfortable to learn, ask questions and get involved. Her ability to support people at different levels and make everyone feel included was truly impressive.

We’re so grateful to everyone who came along and made it such a positive and empowering experience.

Together, we’re building skills, confidence and stronger, safer communities πŸ’¬πŸ› οΈ
