Fife Vegfest 5, another banger of an event by

Kirkcaldy (& Fife) never disappoints☺️

Today we spoke to couple who we’d met previously at the Fife Climate festival last year and they’d said they’d been vegan since and they thanked us for all of our efforts and took some leaflets to share! We also had a few new volunteeres with us for the first time but it felt like they belonged here all along. They had amazing conversations, one memorable was with a woman who had questions about organic farming practices & our volunteer reminded her how they all end up in the same slaughterhouse eventually. By the end of that conversation, the woman thanked us for having changed her mind & opening her eyes to what actually goes on in the industry and took resources to help her with the change. ❤️

Moments like these remind us of why we do this. Onto the next one 💪🏻

End of Winter Vegan Dinner 🌱

It was wonderful to see so much interest in bringing people together around plant-based food and climate action. We had a great time hosting everyone, we hope you enjoyed the food & the community as much as we did. ❤️

Special thanks to Fife Communities Climate Action Network and Fife Climate Hub Greener Kirkcaldy Fife VegFest & Linktown Community Action Group for all their support and to The Tiffin & Soft Serve Cartel for making it memorable with their amazing plant based food.

What a start to the new year!

It was a long day’s work but it was worth every minute. Fife is full of amazing, cheerful folk and they never fail to amaze us. Great conversations all around, one thing that stood out was a couple who came back to tell us that they’d went back & did a vegan shop after speaking to us. There were quite a lot of vegetarians who decided to make the switch today, thanks to conversations with our volunteers. We also met an 80 year old vegan (vegan of 40 years nearly!) today who said we’ve come a long way while reminding us of how far we still have to go. One thing’s for sure, “The Times - They are a-changin’”

🌱 Veganuary isn’t about being perfect. It’s about trying.

This January, we’re inviting people across Fife to pause for a moment and imagine a greener, kinder, healthier way forward, not just for ourselves, but for animals, our planet, and future generations.

Veganuary doesn’t ask you to change everything. It simply asks: what if you tried one plant-based meal? One day? One choice?

For some, Veganuary is about health.
For others, it’s about compassion. Or the climate.
For many, it’s about hope — hope that small choices, made together, can add up to real change.

Every plant-based meal:
- reduces harm
- lowers our environmental impact
- shows that care and community still matter

And no one has to do it alone.

If you’re a local group, café, community organisation, school, or workplace in Fife, we’d love you to join in. Try a plant-based option, share a recipe, host a meal, or simply start the conversation.

If you’re an individual, your voice matters too. Share what you’re eating, what you’re learning, or even what you’re finding challenging. Real stories inspire real change.

Let’s make Veganuary feel welcoming, supportive, and human. Because progress grows when people feel included.

Tag someone who might want to try Veganuary & Please share this post to help spread the word across Fife.

Tell us: what’s one plant-based meal you love?

Together, small steps become something powerful. 🌍💚

It was one of the busiest events this year, thanks to Cairnie Fruit Farm for having us! Time flew by & we even forgot to take a group picture. Loved all the conversations as usual.

Our favourite moment of the day was when we noticed an elderly couple pointing to the picture of the lambs on the board and talking between themselves. One of us went over to see if we can help clarify anything (assuming they felt differently). But they said they live near a farm and have helped the farmer during lamb seasons. Over the course of their lifetime, they’ve come to realise how the lambs bellow for their mums & the various procedures that lambs are forced to endure during their short life. They also told us that no animal deserves to die and that they’d considered themselves animal lovers all their lives but their eating choices were contradictory. We explained the definition of veganism and they agreed wholeheartedly. They said there is only one logical choice for them to make. They had to go vegan. They said us being there was the push they needed to change, it was the most heartwarming experience for us and that brings 2025 to a close for us.

Sadly, during this festive season many other animals still don’t have the luxury of freedom but they & experiences like these remind us of why we keep fighting.

Thanks to all the activists out there for always showing up irrespective of how difficult your day or week or month (or year!) has been. Today was a success. We’ve run 9 successful events this year, hoping the new year brings more ☺️

Happy holidays, everyone!
