UPDATE as at 16:45hrs on Friday 28th November 2025:
The Scout minibus is booked and the tickets have been purchased...only a few days more before we head through to the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh.
We still have 2 spaces for anyone who would like to join us on the day.
A quick reminder of the plan.
Pick-up from Saline turning Circle at 3.15pm and travel through for an entry between 4.15pm and 4.30pm. Enjoy the gardens, cafe and shopping available at your leisure. Our return journey departure time will be discussed with everyone on the day.

Christmas at The Botanics is back for 2025 with a magical after-dark (4.15pm onwards) illuminated trail that will create memories you’ll cherish forever. This enchanting festive experience is a must-see for families, friends, and couples alike.
The Saline & Steelend Gardening Club are arranging a trip through to this event on Thursday 4th December, by hiring the Scout minibus. Our intention is on leaving Saline at 3.15pm for a 4.30pm entry in to the Royal Edinburgh Botanic Gardens. Seating is limited to 16 passengers.
A Minibus has been booked and will depart from the Saline turning circle. At this time, it is planned we will arrive back in Saline around 7pm allowing everyone a full 1hr to 1.5hrs to wander around the illuminated trail…we can collectively decide on the day how long a time we want to wander around the trail, enjoy a refreshment or purchase items from the Botanics Shop (NB. Returning to Saline around 7pm will hopefully ensure we don't get caught up in the commuter traffic across the Queensferry Crossing).
Now the important bit…Costs: Entry fee is £19 per person (The Botanics have said a 10% discount is possible if we have a group of 15+...so £17 per person). Transport to and from the event is £5 per person.
Bookings are accepted on a first come basis (by commenting on this post). If there is demand, consideration will be given to running a second trip at a date yet to be decided.
