What areDoors Open Days? Doors Open Days are coordinated by the Scottish Civic Trust with regional partners to facilitate free access to buildings not normally open to the public. The first Doors Open Day took place in France in 1984, and the concept has spread to other places in Europe, North America, Australia and elsewhere.

This year Abbot House will open it's doors on Saturday 19th September 10am-4pm. You will be able to explore the house and view the beautiful 1500s fresco, WW2 wall mural, and Alasdair Gray's ceiling mural. We have 3 fantastic tenants opening their studios: Clarabella Christie Home , The Rachel Henderson Studio, and Olivello Violins. There will be music and activities for kids. HAPPY 6th BIRTHDAY 🎈 to our beautiful Abbot House Gift Shop. We want to thank every single customer and supplier for the big part they've played in our ongoing success of the charity. Also a huge thanks to Claire and Christine for all their hard work.

We celebrated by scoffing this gorgeous lemon cake made by our very own Chairwoman Alison Fox. 🎂
