Mahmood Akram, a 19-year-old from Chennai, has astounded the world with his exceptional linguistic abilities. He can read, write, and type in 400 languages and speaks 46 of them fluently.

Akram’s linguistic journey began at the age of four, influenced by his father, Shilbee Mozhippriyan, a linguist proficient in 16 languages. Demonstrating an early aptitude, Akram mastered the English alphabet in six days and the Tamil script in three weeks—tasks that typically require months.  

By eight, he set a world record as the youngest multilingual typist. At 12, he impressed experts in Germany by mastering 400 languages, earning another record. 

Akram’s linguistic repertoire includes languages such as Assamese, Arabic, Chinese, French, Hebrew, and German. His proficiency has led him to conduct language workshops in countries like Myanmar, Cambodia, Thailand, and Indonesia, promoting linguistic diversity and cultural understanding. 

Currently, Akram is pursuing degrees in Linguistics from the Open University in the UK, as well as English Literature and Animation at Alagappa University in India. He utilizes social media platforms to maintain and enhance his language skills, often switching interfaces to different languages and engaging with diverse content.  

Akram’s achievements highlight the profound impact of dedication and familial support in nurturing exceptional talent. His story serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that with passion and commitment, remarkable feats are attainable.
