Gameday Recap: Highs, Lows & Serious Shifts! 🏈👑
Another massive weekend in the books for the Kings! Gamedays are always hectic, but seeing the effort these kids put into every single snap makes it all worth it.
Here is the real breakdown of how the action unfolded on the pitch:
🔹 Under 11s: The Heartbreaker Math!
Securing a 27-0 shutout against Glasgow and handling Hamilton 27-6 is brilliant, top-tier football. But then they got into a total dogfight with the Bears and dropped a 21-20 thriller.
Losing by a single point is brutal! It means the coaching staff is going to spend the entire week analyzing that one single flag pull or extra point attempt like it’s game tape for the Super Bowl. The pure focus and effort in the huddles, the relentless pursuit on the pitch, and the sheer determination from this group showed they have got serious heart!
Kings 27 - 0 Glasgow Tigers
Kings 27 - 6 Hamilton Buccaneers
Kings 20 - 21 Bears
🔹 Under 14s: The Offensive Rollercoaster!
Talk about a wild ride for the U14s. They started the day with an absolute shootout, dropping 34 points to edge out Edinburgh in a classic. Then they hit a major speed bump, getting hit hard by a tough Longhorns side and coming away with a 26-0 shutout loss. A lot of squads would fold after a blow like that, pack up the tents, and go home.
But not this group. They flipped the switch right back on for the final game, turning into an absolute scoring machine again to drop another 34 points on Fife! To bounce back like that shows incredible mental toughness and massive adjustments on the fly. Wild shift from the guys!
Kings 34 - 26 Edinburgh Knights
Kings 0 - 26 Tayside Longhorns
Kings 34 - 15 Fife All Stars
🤝 Class Acts & Pure Collaboration
A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to the Fife All Stars and the Edinburgh Knights. In what was an incredibly stressful week, these clubs stepped up big time and helped rearrange the entire gameday on just two days' notice. Absolute respect.
A huge shout-out to all the teams who worked together this week to make this gameday happen. From the coaches to the players, everyone went the extra mile to keep the kids on the field, and it shows the real strength of our football community when it matters most.
👏👏 The Support Squad
To our incredible Kings parents: thank you for navigating the last-minute changes, dealing with the sideline stress, and bringing the absolute noise to back the kids through every single play. We know it takes a village to make these days happen, and your support is everything.
A final shout-out to our own coaches, referees, and team volunteers who worked overtime to keep the wheels turning.

KINGS GAMEDAY RECAP – MEGGETLAND MAYHEM & SCOTLAND SUCCESS

What. A. Day.

Early starts, small squads, big performances, contact football, interceptions, Scotland reps — the Kings badge was everywhere this weekend.

U11 – Bare‑Bones Bravery

Our U11s headed to Meggetland with the absolute minimum squad… and still played like they had a full army behind them.

Offence was sharp and fearless, defence battled every snap, and the effort was pure Kings heart.

The Knights took the win, but the attitude from our wee warriors was outstanding.

U14 – Small Squad, Big Energy

Another bare‑bones crew, another statement performance.

The Kings turned on the style — offence humming, defence flying, confidence through the roof — and came away with the win in a brilliant, competitive game.

This group just refuses to shrink.

Contact Football – Knights U19 v Buccaneers

After the flag fireworks, we settled in to watch the Edinburgh Knights U19 take on the Lancashire Buccaneers — with our own Billy, Pinkie and Archie suited up.

Big hits, big plays, and big reactions from the Kings watching on.

And our Billy? Pulled in a cracking interception. Kings everywhere today.

Scotland Training – Saturday Success

Yesterday, four Kings were representing the club at Scotland training: Caleb, Rosslyn, Gronk and Luke.

A massive shout‑out to Caleb, who only went and won Player of the Session AND the Blue Hat Award.

That’s three Kings players winning the award across the last two Scotland sessions. We’re not just attending — we’re standing out.

The Next Generation – Wee Alexander

And making his debut as the Kings’ tiniest recruit, wee Alexander was in attendance — taking it all in, meeting the full Knights and Kings families, and charming absolutely everyone.

Future baller, future coach, future mascot… whatever he becomes, he’s already part of the Kings story.

💜💛 THE KINGS WAY

Small squads? We adapt.

Big stages? We show up.

Scotland camp? We shine.

Wherever the Kings go, the level goes up.

🏈💜 The Kings Are Recruiting — Send Us Your Children 💛👑

Got a kid who sprints everywhere except when you actually need them to hurry
Got one who can’t catch a cold but insists they’re “built different”
Got one who generates enough chaos to power Dunfermline

Perfect. Send them to us.

We coach boys and girls U11, U14, U17 — beginners welcome, chaos encouraged, smiles guaranteed.

What’s flag football?
Think American Football… but safe.
No tackling, no smashing folk, just speed, teamwork, dodging, catching, and pulling flags. It’s fast, fun, mixed‑gender, and brilliant for confidence.

Mixed teams, mixed abilities, pure mayhem, pure magic.

We’ll give them confidence, pals, and a sport they’ll love. And we’ll give you… 120 minutes of peace.

🟣 U11 Player of the Month — Fraser
Presented by Coach Craig

Age 7 and already defending like he’s got a mortgage and three kids to feed.
Fraser spent April locking down receivers twice his size, reading plays like he’s hacked the opposition playbook, and tackling with the confidence of someone who’s been in the league for years.

Attributes
- Defensive IQ beyond his age — sees the play before it happens
- Fearless tackler — size doesn’t matter, angles do
- Coach’s dream — listens, learns, applies instantly
- Energy machine — never stops, never sulks, never hides

Future shutdown corner behaviour.

---

🟡 U14 Player of the Month — Adam
Presented by Coach Winn & Coach Kieran

First BAFA gameday and the boy turned up like he’d been doing it for seasons.
Adam is coachable, calm, and hungry — the exact combo that makes U14 coaches cry happy tears.
He grafts, he listens, he adjusts, and then he goes out and tackles like a wee heat‑seeking missile.

Attributes
- Ultra‑coachable — takes feedback and levels up instantly
- Hard worker — never cuts corners, never coasts
- Tackle boss — wraps up, drives through, textbook every time
- Team-first attitude — lifts the group, not just himself

One gameday in and already setting standards.

---

⚪ U17 Player of the Month — Leo
Presented by Coach Greg & Doc

When the U17 offence needed someone to carry the load, Leo said:
> “Aye, sling it on my back then.”

He carried the offence at BAFA gameday — big plays, big moments, big leadership.
Leo’s becoming that player who doesn’t just perform… he changes the game.

Attributes
- Playmaker — turns nothing into something
- Reliable under pressure — wants the ball when it matters
- Leader by example — effort, attitude, consistency
- Physical presence — defenders bounce, Leo doesn’t

A proper U17 baller.

---

👑 Three players. Three stories. One Kings family.
April belonged to Fraser, Adam, and Leo — three lads showing exactly what this club is about: effort, attitude, and purple‑and‑gold pride.

🟣 BAFA Gameday at the Longhorns

🟡 U14 KINGS

Game 1 – Kings 20 v 12 Longhorns

A defensive slugfest to kick things off.
Longhorns tried to run their wee plays — Kings D said absolutely not.
Offence took a minute to wake up (probably still in the car park), but once they got moving, they did the business.
20–12 and the Kings start the day with a win and a wee flex.

Game 2 – Kings 57 v 12 Knights

This one was basically a highlight reel.
Offence finally remembered they’re fast, talented, and allergic to being tackled.
Defense? Still bullying folk.
Rosslyn with the pick‑six , caught it like he ordered it on Amazon Prime.
57–12 Kings

Game 3 – Kings 6 v 27 All Stars

First half: both defences playing like they’d bet money on it. 7–6 All Stars.
Second half: Kings O made a few mistakes, All Stars said “cheers” and took three pick‑sixes to the house.
Scoreline doesn’t show the fight — the boys and girls battled the whole way.

🟣 DEFENSIVE MENACES

Elias blitzed like he was powered by Irn‑Bru Xtra.
Relentless pressure, constant chaos, QB nightmares for days.
The whole D kept the same energy rotations came on like they’d been waiting all week to flag someone.
Proper Kings defence.

🟣 COACH LIZ — FIRST GAMEDAY, FULL CHAOS MODE

Thrown straight into the deep end and came out running the show.
Had the defence organised, loud, and absolutely flying.
Finished the day buzzing, exhausted, and emotionally cooked , which means she’s officially one of us now.
Kings U14 football will age you five years and make you proud in the same hour.
She smashed it.

🟡 U17 KINGS

Makeshift squad. Missing players. Bodies held together with tape and hope.
And still — they fought every single snap.
Three losses, aye… but the spirit?
Unbreakable.
They backed each other, played with heart, and refused to fold.
That’s Kings DNA.

🟣 THANK YOU SECTION

Longhorns

Brilliant hosts with a top‑class setup.
Smooth day, great pitches, and a cracking atmosphere from start to finish.
Always a pleasure heading their way.

Coaches & Refs

Volunteers keeping the whole circus running.
Refs doing laps of the field all day, flags flying, keeping the games moving like seasoned traffic wardens.
Coaches losing their voices and sanity for the badge.

Parents — THE REAL MVPs

Early alarms.
Long drives.
Snacks that could feed a small army.
Cheering like it’s the Super Bowl.
Holding jackets, filming plays, calming nerves, hyping kids, and pretending they understand the rules.
You lot are the engine of this club.
We see you. We appreciate you.

🔥👑 CAROLINE’S PHOTOGRAPHY — TAKE A BOW 👑🔥

They’re not just good they’re elite.

She didn’t just capture a gameday.
She captured emotion, speed, heart, and every ounce of Kings fight.
Every frame looks like it belongs on a poster.
Every kid looks like a superstar.
Every moment feels alive because she made it look alive.

BAFA Flag

19/04/2026

What. A. Weekend.
Two squads. Two cities. Two completely different adventures.
One club absolutely refusing to be boring.

The Kings were everywhere — grafting, battling, celebrating, wobbling, recovering, and giving the coaches grey hairs in the process.
Wouldn’t have it any other way.

🟡 U14 – HOME GAMES IN DUNFERMLINE

Game 1 – Kings 14 v Tigers 14
A proper ding‑dong to start the day.
Physical, scrappy, competitive — exactly how we like it.

Game 2 – Kings 31 v Buccs 18
HELLO.
This was the Kings in full flow.
Offence cooking. Defence flying.
And Rosslyn deciding she was going to read Buccs’ plays like she had their playbook in her pocket — two massive picks that flipped the whole game.

Game 3 – Kings 0 v Bears 36
Aye… this one.
Let’s just say the legs went, the brains went, and the Bears didn’t.
But the squad kept battling, and that’s what matters.

U14 Positives
- Big plays all over the shop
- Proper teamwork in Game 2
- Players stepping into new roles
- Great effort even when the tank was empty
- Real flashes of what this squad can become

U14 Player Highlights
Caleb – grabbed a pick and worked hard all day. Big shift from him.
Rosslyn – two huge interceptions and pure electricity. Brilliant stuff.

---

🟣 U17 – AWAY DAY IN ABERDEEN

The U17s rocked up to Aberdeen with a depleted squad, half the team playing both ways, and the other half learning new positions on the bus.
Classic Kings behaviour.

Game 1 – Kings v Aberdeen
A cracking game against the new Aberdeen team.
The lads competed hard, moved the ball well, and only lost by a single score.
Loads of positives — communication, composure, and proper graft.

Game 2 – Kings v All Stars
This was always going to be a tough one.
The All Stars are stacked, experienced, and had a full squad.
Our boys were running on fumes — but still gave everything.
Players out of position, both‑way football, and zero quit.
That’s Kings spirit.

U17 Positives
- Massive work rate
- Great leadership and communication
- Players stepping up everywhere
- Real resilience against two strong teams

---

👑 THANK YOU

Huge thank you to Aberdeen for hosting a brilliant gameday for the U17s — top setup, top people.
And a massive thank you to all the clubs who travelled to Dunfermline for the U14 fixtures — great football, great energy, great day.

---

💜💛 KINGS STANDARD

Chaos, graft, brilliance, mistakes, big plays, heart, and pure Kings spirit.
Wouldn’t change it for the world.
Plenty to be proud of. Plenty to build on. Plenty more to come.

Onwards, Kings. 💜💛🏈

🟣 KINGS FACEBOOK POST — WEEKEND RECAP & BIG WEEKEND AHEAD

Another busy weekend for the Kings as we roll into the school holidays.

On Saturday, Coach Greg and Coach Doc ran brilliant sessions for our U11, U14 and U17 squads. Despite it being the holidays, the numbers were still strong and the energy was class. Huge credit to both coaches — the sessions were organised, high‑tempo, and packed with development for every age group.

While training was happening in Dunfermline, our U14 QB Noah was down in Loughborough representing the Kings at the U13 GB Development Day.

It was a gruelling 8 hours of work with the GB coaching staff, focusing on QB mechanics, footwork, reading plays, and decision‑making under pressure. After lunch the players moved into a round‑robin scrimmage with four teams, each coached by a GB coach.

Noah’s team — the Chargers — went undefeated and won the final.
A brilliant experience not only for Noah, but for all the young players who attended. Great to see one of our own out there competing, learning, and representing the Kings so well.

And we’re not slowing down.

Next weekend our U14s kick off their BAFA campaign at home in Duloch from 10am, with games against the Paisley Bears, Glasgow Tigers and Hamilton Bucs. Big test, big opportunity, and the boys and girls are buzzing for it.

Our U17s also get their season underway with a trip up to Aberdeen, a proper shift for the older squad and a great chance to set the tone early.

If you’ve never watched flag football before, or you just want to see what the Kings are all about, get yourself down to Duloch.
Fast games, big plays, loud sidelines… and the usual Kings chaos.

Purple and gold season incoming.
