Volunteer Support Request📣📣

The area afloat team are looking for volunteers to help support get our cadets afloat on the following courses/weekends;

April 11-13 (Dundee) - Overnight Supervisors and Chef
April 18-20 (Port Edgar) - Overnight Supervisors and Chef
May 9-11 (Port Edgar) - Overnight Supervisors

Are you a boats officer, sailing/windsurfing instructor or RYA Principal/Chief Instructor at the Unit in Northern Area?

If you are interested in our current thoughts/plans, have your own thoughts or wants from us or simply have some questions relating to sailing or running a training centre

The Area Sailing and Windsurfing team will be online on the 2nd April between 1900 and 2000 for an informal drop in.

Have you completed an RYA instructor course this year? 👩‍🏫

We have noticed a gap in instructor numbers, particularly those going through courses this year or those who may have revalidated recently.

Please note these qualifications are not automatically awarded on Westminster following the course. Might be worth having a look at your qualification record.

Once you receive your certificate in the post from the RYA, your qualification should then be awarded locally by your Unit ✍️

Alternatively, the A*O team can help just ping us an email on [email protected] or [email protected]

Amazing to see success at the end of the season in form of 3 new Dinghy Instructors, LC Abby (Dunbar), LC Esther (Rosyth) and PO Laird (Leith) who all passed their course last week while at Sea Cadets Port Edgar Boat Station ⛵️ 👏

A huge well done to all 3 for pushing through a week of mixed wind and the start of the winter weather. Coming out with some strong sessions increasing the female representation in sailing instructors within Northern Area! 💪
