Uppertunity is a charity offering mental wellbeing and skill development services to adults Our 4 mission aims are:
1. We believe in equality for all.

We are a registered Community Interest Company (a type of non-profit social enterprise), working with individuals (16+) with learning disabilities, autism and mental health barriers. We focus on an individual’s strengths and aspirations, then work with them to realise their potential, leading to self-worth and independence. We do this through: creative workshops, group and community work, mentorin

g, skill development programs, meaningful volunteering roles and social events. We empower individuals and help create, develop and maintain purpose and self-worth.
2. We champion the development of mindsets which enable people to reach their optimum self. We use a mixture of methods that bring about an inner resilience, challenging people's perceptions of themselves and their own capabilities of shaping their world.
3. We create social change by demonstrating that everyone has strengths and skills to offer their world. We all have a calling and a purpose we can serve that provides self-fulfilment.
4. We create environmentally sustainable communities through community partnership and connection. Our current services we offer are:
- Weekly Warriors: Our programme of activities that take place each week, including art, sewing, woodwork, active groups etc.
- Daring for Development: Our skill and capacity building program
- Serendipities: Our social change space in the form of a café in the City Centre, offering unique food, social events, volunteering, job roles and catering.
- Energising the Everyday: An inclusive training programme run at Serendipities, involving life developing skills and gaining knowledge and practical skills in hospitality
- Uppmakes: Our creative skills program where individuals upcycle, while developing life skills.
- Growing Places: Our therapeutic garden volunteering programme where volunteers are in charge of creating a beautiful environment within Uppertunity’s premises.
- The Upside: Our pluralistic mentoring service to help resolve personal problems, including My Journey.

Dreaming big launches this Thursday! Come along and enjoy some food, chat and art activities from 1-3pm at CANVAS, Ure Street. 🥳

In the evening we are also attending the launch of an exhibit called "Design and Disability" at the V+A! We have a few tickets left available, get in touch if you're interested. 🤩

Dreaming Big! is launching Thursday 4th June! We're super excited for this exhibition, and we hope you are too 🤩 This is an exhibition of member’s work themed around possibilities, self development, dreams of the future and future selves.

The launch event will take place from 1pm to 3pm at CANVAS with food, art activties and a chance to talk about the theme of the exhibition. Shine Time and Scribbles will be held at Canvas on the 4th. Dreaming Big will run from 4th to the 28th of June, and be open to view from Thursdays to Sundays, after 3pm.

On Thursday the 18th June, we're taking advantage of the (hopefully) warmer weather and hosting a Garden Fair! Join us from 12pm to 3pm for an afternoon of fun, food and games in Dudhope Castle gardens.
We'll have lots to do; art activities, outdoor games, nature challenges, a tombola and a home baking contest! Bring your entries along on the day to be judged & shared. Entry £5, Carers free. Afternoon groups are joining the Fair at no extra cost.

The launch of an exhibition showcasing the contributions of disabled and neurodivergent people to design and culture. This is a special event, so dress your best! Let us know in advance if you want to come, as we have 10 tickets available.

Our next big exhibition is coming soon! Dreaming big will launch on Thursday 4th of June at CANVAS, 16 Ure Street, Dundee. The theme of this exhibition is possibilities, stories and future selves!

The launch event will run from 1-3pm. We will have food and drink, and art activities led by How It Felt.

Dreaming big will be on display from the 4th to 28th of June during CANVAS's usual opening hours.

For lovers of comics, manga, anime and cartoon illustration, we have something exciting!🌟

Join us for a fun 4-week creative workshop exploring:

- Comic design
- Anime chat
- Character ideas
- Zine making
- Drawing, storytelling and creativity

Whether you already love comics and anime, or just want to try something new, this workshop is a relaxed space to get creative, share ideas and build your own comic-inspired work.
